Vice President, Sándor Lakatos assisting Santa (Mario Farinella) Claus giving gifts to Branch children. (Continued from Page 13) Auditors, Arthur Barillo and Joseph Baumgartner. President Nemeth thanked all present for their wonderful support during the past year. He asked all present to remain and join us in our Annual Family Christmas Party. Our Family Christmas Party got underway at about 3:15 p.m. The few inches of snow that fell that morning seemed to add to the joyous festivities of the holiday season. Our program started out with funny cartoons and just thrilled the children. Special thanks to Rosemary Leili who lead our group in singing of Christmas carols. As the children sang “Jingle Officer's wives assisting in kitchen, left to right: Mrs. Joseph Baumgartner, Mrs. Sándor Lakatos. Mrs. Andrew Nemeth, Mrs. Ernest Mozer and Mrs. Arthur Barillo. Bells” and the house lights dimmed, a hardy Ho-Ho was heard in the room. It was none other than Santa (Mario Farinella) Clause arriving. He proceeded to give the children their gifts. It was very heart warming to see the smiles and tears on their faces. The Christmas spirit was truly with those present at our affair. At the conclusion of the visit by Santa, all were invited to remain for refreshments and a get together by old and new friends. All the officers of Branch 51 sincerely wish you and yours a happy and healthy New Year. Branch Manager Ernest Mozer presenting scholarship check to Sharon Toth of Elmwood Park, N.J. Ernest Mozer, Manager of Branch 51 in Passaic, New Jersey, is pictured presenting a scholarship check to Sharon Toth of Elmwood Park, New Jersey. Sharon, who attends Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, is an Accounting Major. A very talented young lady, Sharon was the 1979 Garden State Talent Expo winner which was held at Holmdel, New Jersey. She was also the 1980 National Dance Champion winner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Congratulations, Sharon, we’re proud of you. Fraternally yours, Ernest Mozer Branch Manager Branch 76 Philadelphia, Pa. At this time we look forward to the New Year with renewed hope and anticipation. A wish for peace and understanding in the world, of which there is no greater gift for mankind. We shall endeavor to rebuild the friendship, trust and sincerity that so rudely eluded us at our recent convention, the purpose of which was a merger with The Hungarian Reformed Federation. The saying goes, time heals all wounds, we are hopeful. At our last meeting the following officers were elected for the coming year: President, Joe Karoly; Vice President, Helen Molnár; Recording Corresponding Secretary, Steve Szemes; Treasurer, Elsie Szemes; Auditors, Annabel Karoly and John Mikula. They deserve your continued support. We regret to inform you of the passing of one of our most dedicated, well known and beloved officers, Mrs. Helen Schenkel, nee Kuzmann. Helen put up a valiant, but losing battle, with a lingering serious illness. It’s hard to imagine that someone with her spirit will not be with us anymore. Our most sincere sympathy to her mother and members of her family on her passing. Our sympathy and condolences also to the family of Mrs. Regina Bush, who passed away in the prime of her life. Also the Alper and Kennedy families on the passing of Mrs. Leona Alper, after a long and confining illness. May they rest in peace. With best wishes to all, for a happy and healthy New Year. Sincerely, your reporter Steve Szemes SOME OF THESE DAYS... Yesterday: a time of experience. Tomorrow: a time of hope. Today: a time of getting from one to the other in the best possible way.
