He recalled that his father, Steve Varga, had served as President of the St. László Society in Bridgeport, Conn., which later merged with the Cleveland St. István Society to form the A.H.C.S. in 1942. Mr. Stephen Zelle then spoke on the history of St. László Egylet and A.H.C.S.; he and his fellow officers and Directors are happy and pleased to continue these Hungarian Fraternal activities through the William Penn. He offers several historic documents for the William Penn Archives. Father Nicholas Dengl speaks of the dream of Msgr. Boehm, whose dream it was to have a Hungarian Catholic Church, Fraternal Society and a Hungarian Newspaper, all three we have and he expresses the fervent hope that William Penn will continue to support this need and bring all Hungarians together. The principle speaker was Mr. Elmer Charles who detailed the need for one large Hungarian Fraternal Society in order for the Hungarians in America to have a strong voice in the U.S.A. He assures Father Dengl that the William Penn will most certainly support the Hungarian Churches, regardless of denomination, will support the Hungarian Press and those of Hungarian descent with adequate needs for youth programs, care for the elderly and activities and financial programs for all its members, young, middle aged and elderly. He closed by saying we do not want to have to say what the prophet Jeremiah said: “The elderly have disappeared from the City Gates and youth has stopped singing.” The program was closed with benediction by Rev. Stephen Szabó. Toastmaster Lesco thanked all who helped make this day a success. rm I would like further information on the IRA. Name Address, Phone Call Day Or Night, 3 '
