The children, with their parents or grandparents, started arriving shortly after dinner and by 3:00 p.m., the hall was filled. The party was held at Richard Sauhamel’s Hall, 3614 North Damen Avenue. At 3:30 p.m., the president opened the festivities by greeting the children and their escorts and thanking them for the great response. Christmas carols preceeded the showing of cartoon movies—a great selection enjoyed by all, young and old. Following the movies, Santa appeared and the ringing of the bell, Merry Christmas and a Ho Ho Ho, brought the cheerful smiles and joy to the children’s faces. Santa then distributed the many gifts with his helpers. After all the gifts were passed out, the ladies brought on the hotdogs with all the trimmings. Refreshments were served all afternoon. There was plenty for one and all. After 5:00 p.m., the members began slowly to depart for their homes. The movies were shown by Stephen Hodits. Santa was Joe Subsits. His helpers were Frank Balogh and Imre Bosits, Mary Hodits and Betty Burke. Refreshments were served by Joseph Hodits.
