That is about all the news from Branch 18. Hope to see most of you, if not all of you, at the anniversary dinner. Please make sure you make your reservations early. Seats are limited. Hope you all have a safe and happy summer!!! Fraternally yours, Betty Holguin, T reasurer/Reporter Branch 76 Philadelphia, Pa. It is only the beginning of summer, at this time, but we feel that it is not too early to remind our members and friends of our ANNUAL DINNER DANCE. The date is Saturday, Nov. 7, 1981, commencing at 7 P.M., at the United German Hungarian Club’s modern facility in Oakford, Pa. It is our 24th affair and we are glad to report that it has enjoyed the support of the nearby community to make it a success. Please note the date, we will inform you of the details later. We are happy to report that Ginny Farkas and Helen Schenkel are both doing well after being hospitalized recently. It was really cause for concern. Our most sincere condolences to the families of deceased long time members, John Toth and Mrs. Gussie Szabados. We had the privilege of seeing on local T.V. a film that was titled “What happened to the Hungarians in Bridegport, Ct.” It depicted the life from the early days of the 20th century to the present time of the newly emigrated Hungarians of that area. It was very realistic, true to life and well presented. It showed the hardships and the life they had to endure to establish their future roots in their new country. We believe the film is available for showings by clubs and organizations. It brings back the story of “This is your life” for most of us. Have a happy, healthy summer. Fraternally, Steve Szemes Branch 1 29 Columbus, Ohio Branch 129 will be sponsoring a bus trip on Sunday, August 16, 1981 to visit the William Penn Scenic View in Pennsylvania.
