MICHAEL CIBULAS William Penn Branch 189 men’s bowling team won second place in the Tuesday Night Bowling League! Congratulations boys! We know you tried so hard to come in first place, but we’re proud of the trophies you won. Remember there’s always next year. Our sympathy goes out to Mrs. Joseph Mathe and family for the recent loss of her husband. Mr. Mathe was in the grocery business for about 50 years. Joe Mathe was well loved by all. He was kind, gentle and a very compassionate man. He was never too busy to give a helping hand to who ever needed it. He will be missed by many of us. We also extend our sincere sympathy to Mrs. Nick Trombitis, who lost both her husband and daughter within three weeks of each other. May the dear Lord give her strength to endure this tragedy. Our prayers are with her. The William Penn Athletic Club will hold their annual picnic August 24 at the Beechwood Play Ground. The sausage and beer will be furnished by the club. The sausage will be fried by the good-hearted committee men, while casseroles and desserts will be brought by the women. Bring your own table settings. Come and have a good time. Helen Barber will have her game going and it’s fun!! Best wishes to Pug and Penny Duruttya on their second anniversary, June 8th, as club managers. Our June meeting was combined with a cook-out and we had a wonderful turnout. Plans are progressing for the Annual Hungarian Picnic to be sponsored by our Branch, Sunday, August 30, 1981 at the Assumption Church picnic grounds, Leechburg, Pa. These annual picnics have proven to be successful despite the fact that on two occasions we had rain. We are looking forward to the Branch members, members of neighboring Branches and friends joining with us. There will be fine Hungarian food, pastries and refreshments. There will be dance music from 5 P.M., music to be furnished by Mickey Schwartz and his orchestra. There will also be a dance program for the entertainment of our guests. There will be several fun booths also as well as a wonderful opportunity for friends to meet and have a day of real socializing. We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you to this Hungarian Picnic. John P. Balia President, Br. 296 Branch 705 Mayville, Wisconsin The Wisconsin Fraternal Congress in cooperation with the National Fraternal Congress conducted a trial program in Wisconsin and declared the week of June 8-14 as Fraternal Week. This is the date American League baseball teams the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox were to play.
