Branch 76 Philadelphia, Pa. The Delegate District Meeting was held Saturday, May 5th at the Philadelphia Hungarian Club. After extended discussion, by those present, Steve Szemes was elected delegate and Daneil Rosenfeld as alternate delegate for District 9. We wish to express our sympathy to the family of Katherine Noel nee Enderle, who passed away suddenly. She served as Branch Manager for a number of years at our Branch. On Saturday, June 9th, there was a pleasant reunion of the Bus No. 3 Group that went to Hungary in 1976. It was held at the home of Gordon and Mildred Boglyos Plunkett in West Chester, Pa. The occasion was a surprise birthday party for Helen Boglyos Rodberg from Branch 159, Phoenixville, Pa. Among those present were Steve and Peggy Sander, Sanyi and Betty Baranyi, George and Irene Horvath with their daughter Tina, all from Youngstown, Ohio. Also present were Violet Lenart, Alex Goydan from McKeesport, Pa., Pete and Margaret Boglyos Flisock and son Jack, from Pottstown, Pa., Menyhért and Margaret Boglyos with their son, Bob, from Phoenixville, Pa., Steve and Elsie Szemes of Springfield, Pa. They reminisced on the wonderful time they had on their trip to Hungary which formed many warm friendships. They also discussed the trip for 1980. It was a beautiful day we will all remember. We were since informed that Steve Sander was stricken on arrival home the next day. We sincerely hope that his condition has improved and that he is on the road to full recovery at this writing. We extend our best wishes to our Vice President, Helen Schenkel, who has been ill, now recovering at home. Sorry she had to miss the Bowling Tournament. Keep your chin and spirits up Helen, we need you with us. Our other well known and ailing members, Betty Wlosak and Carmen Mudry are holding their own and hopefully improving after extended and disabling illness. Call them or drop them a line to show them we care. A reminder, please mark your calendar. Our Annual Dinner-Dance, Saturday, November 3rd, 1979, at the IJ.G.H. Club. It will be our 22nd and still going strong, with your help we’ll keep on. Hope you all have a healthy and enjoyable summer. Elsie Szemes Branch 226 McKeesport, Pa. Reunion - William Penners Busz No. 3 1 976 Hungary Tour A grand reunion of some of the group from Busz No. 3 (1976 Tour of Hungary) was held at the home of Mildred Plunkett in West Chester, Pa., on Saturday, June 9. This get-together served a dual purpose—it was not only a sort of annual reunion, but also a surprise birthday party for Helen Rodberg (remember Helen?), and it really was a SURPRISE! Helen had no inkling of the party—until we all arrived. It was a most happy occasion. Those attending were, from Ohio, Peg and Steve Sándor, Irene and George Nemeth and daughter Tina from Youngstown. From Pennsylvania, Elsie and Steve Szemes, Springfield; Margaret and Peter Flisick, Pottstown; Alex and Betty Baranyi, North Huntingdon; Alexander J. Goydon from Greenock Heights; and Violet Lenart from McKeesport. Please note from the photo, we four from Branch 226, McKeesport, arrived in fine Magyar style—with our special Banner and all, thanks to Alex Baranyi, our most talented artist. Music and entertainment was provided by tapes which were made during the 1976 Tour—the music we all sang to and enjoyed in the hotels in which we were housed, plus all the interesting conversations we had at the dinner table—a recollection of never-to-be forgotten days in Hungary! It is our greatest hope that those of us who were together in this group in 1976 will plan to make the tour in 1980 so that we can have a memorable reunion in Budapest, and thus continue and strengthen this friendship and good old William Penn fraternalism, which began in 1976, and, with the help of God, will continue for many years to come. Violet B. Lenart Branch 249 Dayton, Ohio We wish to extend our congratulations to member Reverend Stephen Szőke upon the completion of 40 years as a minister. We wish him good health and long life so he will continue to administer God’s work for many years to come. Congratulations are also in order for Frank and Elizabeth Bysak on attaining their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The celebration was held June 3rd and was hosted by their children Mary Elizabeth, Rose Mary, and Frank Jr., along with their families. We wish the golden anniversary celebrants many more years together in good health and happiness. Director Albert G. Kertesz and 50 year anniversary celebrants Elizabeth and Frank Bysak. 1 8
