William Penn Life, 1979 (14. évfolyam, 1-4. szám)

1979-07-01 / 3. szám

Branch 18 Detroit, Michigan The young members of Branch 18 had a great turnout on their “Disco Night”, which was held on March 3rd. The music set all ages in a dancing mood. Sorry some of you arrived too late to enjoy the delicious roast duck dinner, which was held on March 8th. Steve Szatmári has excelled himself in this delicious meal. As usual, our favorite dish . . . the Wooden Platter, on March 17th, was a complete sell-out. The atmosphere was so relaxing that the groups just did not want to leave, consequently the place was “one big happy family”. Our William Penn Hungarian dancers performed at the Third Anniversary of the William Penn Social Club on March 24th. The dinner, as always, was excellent and our friend and member, Joe Balint and his orchestra completed the evening of enjoyment. The 1979 General Convention will be held commencing Monday, September 10th, in the William Penn Hotel, Grant Street, Pittsburgh, Pa. The following were elected to represent Branch 18: Stephen Danko, Andrew Toth, Stephen P. Danko, Betty Holguin, Steve Szatmári, and James Katona. As always, a great amount of time and effort are put into the organization of our Annual Bowling Tournament. This year was our 36th National Bowling Tournament, which was held in Pittsburgh, Pa. on May 26th and 27th. Many thanks to Messrs: John P. Balia, National Vice President; Directors, William C. Kohut and John Sabo; and Gus G. Nagy, Vice President for doing such an outstanding job. The hospitality extended was gracious. Of course bowling is always full of excitement. All of us are hoping to do our best. Some of us do and others . . . well. . . wait until next year!
