The Board reviewed his full duties and responsibilities and his compensation. Moved, seconded, and the Board unanimously ratified the action of the Executive Committee in the appointment of Mr. Stephen Szilagyi as Vice President of Marketing, as outlined in the Executive Committee Meeting Minutes, dated May 14, 1976. Mr. Charles committed himself to assist Mr. Szilagyi in making him a success, and he requested each Board member to cooperate with him in order to make him a successful Marketing Director for the Association. 21) President Charles introduced Mr. Stephen Szilagyi to the Board at this time. He informed Mr. Szilagyi that this was a history making decision when the Board considered the position of Vice President of Marketing. He also informed Mr. Szilagyi that the Board unanimously appointed him to the position of Vice President of Marketing effective September 1, 1976. 22) Mr. Szilagyi expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Board for the confidence placed in him by appointing him to such an important position. Mr. Szilagyi stated that he alone can not be successful unless we as a group collectively cooperate and support him. Fraternalism is his main theme, however he emphasizes that without a sufficient flow of new business there will not be sufficient funds for projected fraternal programs. Mr. Szilagyi read to the Board his letter of resignation which he has forwarded to his congregation. He also read to the Board a lengthy article which appeared in the Greenville, Ohio newspaper commending him for his enthusiastic spirit which he has exemplified over the years in which he served the community. Mr. Szilagyi also feels that in becoming involved we will progress. He expressed hope that each member of the official family will become involved and help him to become successful. Mr. Szilagyi has an enthusiastic outlook for the future and through this enthusiasm he feels the Association will go forward and progress. (Continued on Page 19) 18
