The Society was not capable of growing even though it was well administered and in order to survive a Society must grow.” Mr. Fohl also stated, “We found something in William Penn which we had been looking for all his life and that is Fraternalism.” We welcome the St. George Catholic Union members into our fraternal family and can most appropriately express our welcome by saying “ISTEN HOZOTT.” Below we show a few pictures of the formal signing of the Merger Agreement. As soon as the Merger has been formally approved St. George Catholic Union members will be advised of how they can now actively participate in all William Penn Fraternal and Social activities. (Additional Pictures on Page Three) FRATERNAL WEEK AND FLAG DAY CEREMONIES The William Penn Association, a member of the National Fraternal Congress of America was well represented in several Flag Day ceremonies in various sections of the country. On June 3, 1976 Hon. Milton J. Shapp, Governor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, signed the Fraternal Week and Flag Day Proclamation in Harrisburg, Pa. On behalf of the Association Mr. Elmer Charles, National President was in attendance. That same day, in the County Building, Pittsburgh, Pa. the Board of Allegheny Commissioners signed a Fraternal Week and Flag Day proclamation. These ceremonies were attended by: Julius Somogyi, National Treasurer; Gus G. Nagy, Vice-President-Membership Services; and Albert J. Stelkovics, National Secretary. In Fredonia, Wis. scene of the very first Flag Day observed each year since 1885, the National Fraternal Congress of America sponsored a nationwide program to observe Flag Day in this Bicentennial year. Representing the Association at the auspicious occasion were: Mr. Stephen Szilagyi, newly appointed Vice-President-Marketing, and Mrs. Szilagyi; General Agent Louis Sauer of Chicago and Mrs. Sauer and General Agent John J. Lippert and Mrs. Lippert of Mayville, Wis. Also on this day the. Executive Board of Directors and officers participated in Flag Day ceremonies at Point State Park, Pittsburgh, Pa. sponsored by the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh. Commissioner Foerester, Jim Flaherty, National Treasurer Somogyi, Notional Secretary Stelkovics, Vice President Gus G. Nagy and Commissioner Pearce. Standing around Hon.
