The guests then enjoyed a really fine dinner, efficiently served by the catering staff of the William Penn Hotel. During the dinner, we were entertained with excellent Hun­garian music provided by Arpad Nagy violinist, accompanied by Dorothy and Casey. Following the dinner, there was a very short commemoration program. Guests at the headtable were introduced. After this the only speech of the evening was delivered by our National President, Mr. Elmer Charles, who briefly recalled the accomplishments of the past 90 years of the Association, paid tribute to all of those dedicated people who contributed to the growth of the William Penn Association, to those who are presently active in the promotion of the Associa­tion and finally a pledge that the present administration will turn over to the succeeding generation a viable and pro­gressive Association to continue serving the needs of its membership. From Queens, New York the newest member of our agency force, Lee Wargo, Branch 648. Also introduced were Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Gero of Federal, Pa. who on the Ernie L, Könnyű Mr. Ernie L. Könnyű, son of Mr. and Mrs. László Könnyű, Branch 209, St. Louis, MO has won the Republican nomination as Congressman to the U.S. House of Representatives from the 13th Congressional district in the State of California. To our knowledge he is the only per­son of Hungarian background who is running for Congress in the United States. We congratulate Mr. Könnyű and wish him well, certainly it is about time that the citizens with Magyar ethnic back­ground have one of their own as a repre­sentative in the Halls of Congress. We urge all Hungarians in the 13th Congressional district of California to help elect Mr. Ernie Könnyű as their next Congressman. 50th anniversary of the former Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association, played the lead roles in a stage production titled “The Great Heritage”. Mr. Rezső Mikola, on behalf of the Magyarok Világszövetsége, presented to the William Penn Association a herendi porcelain statue depicting a coal-miner which is symbolic because the William (Continued on Page Four) Messrs.
