Branch 8, Johnstown, Pa. held their Christmas Party Saturday, December 21, 1974. A severe snow storm kept many children from attending. However, those who braved the snow were greeted by yours truly, then Santa Claus appeared greeting the children. While Santa held the little ones, they whispered to Santa what they wanted for Christmas. The older children helped decorate the beautiful tree. All carols in the William Penn Christmas book were sung with the help of Theresa Dudash. Refreshments were served by Ann Stofa, Ida Sipos and Vera Petruska, after which Valarie Stofa was Santa’s little helper, getting the gift packages ready for Santa to hand out to the children. Santa was really enjoyed by all. Best wishes for the New Year are extended to all the National Officers and Staff at the Home Office and William Penn Members. We liked the Safeguard Your Health column and we also liked the group picture where Director John Sabo appears so youthful we bet he is at least 39? 'March 16th card party of Branch 14 was attended by about 200 people plenty of door and raffle prizes. We were told that the traditional grape festival has been cancelled so that a banquet can be arranged for the fifty year members, some time in the fall of this year. Frank Oravis has retired from his window washing business but he is the store keeper for the Branch. We heard that Joe Semetko is in Tuscon, Arizona with Cleveland Indians. What is he the bat boy? We will try to be informative as we resume our articles on Branch 14. Any member who has any news, please contact Christmas Party at Branch 8.
