mas Dinner at the V.F.W. Hall. It was catered by one of the Auxiliary members, Mrs. Mary Gyorke and her helpers. The dinner was a huge success two ways — a very nice turn out by the members and their spouses and it was very delicious ■—■ the usual for Mrs. Gyorke! Following the Annual Christmas Din­ner, the annual meeting of the Auxiliary took place. The officers were re-elected by a unanimous vote: Elvira László, Presi­dent; Irma Herr, Vice President; Julia Danko, Secretary-Treasurer; and Audiors are Martha Balosé and Helen Nemeth. The members also voted to continue on with the practice of a bone china cup and saucer presented to each member on her birthday as a gift of appreciation. The big social event of the year for the ladies will be a CARD PARTY to be held at the V.F.W. Hall, 1125 Fort Street, Lincoln Park, Michigan, on Wednesday evening, March 7, 1973. Admission tickets may be secured from any member of the Auxili­ary. Remember the good time you had at the last card party in May — come and have a better time on March 7th. Presntation of “Illustrious Citation Award”: Steve Danko, Julius Macker, Elvira László and Director John Vespremi. On February 10th, 1973, Branch 18 will have their ANNUAL CHAMPAGNE BALL at the Castaways Hall in River­­view. Frank Borisz and his Continental Orchestra will provide the music. A free bottle of champagne to every five persons sitting at a table. Tickets are available from any officer of the branch but you had better hurry and get your ticket as they are going fast — first come first served. This affair is always a sell-out so don’t forget — February 10th, 1973 at the Castaways Hall!!! The William Penn Mixed Bowling League is about half way through the season and it’s a hotly contested affair for first place. At this writing, Team No. 9 consisting of Joe and June Gross and Mildred and Howard Lunwick are in first place by only one-half point — how close can you get. The league consists of 20 teams and bowling every other Sunday is very much enjoyed by all 80 members — they look forward to it. The Annual Children’s Christmas Party was held on Sunday, December 10th, 1972 at the Hungarian American Athletic Club Auditorium at 198 Somerset Street, New Brunswick. Branch "President, Joseph Arvay, welcomed everyone after which he introduced National Director Michael Hegedűs who greeted all in attendance in the name of the Home Office. He gave National President Charles’ Christmas Message that, “Though he cannot attend, his spirit is here with us.” He informed them that they were fortunate because they belonged to the best Insurance Com­pany in the world. President Arvay then introduced the Chairman, Lillian Thomas, Vice Presi­dent, who presented the Program. As the guests arrived, refreshments were served and enjoyed, as a film, called the “Magic Horse” which won an Academy Award for International Films, was shown by George Thomas, projectionist, husband of our Chairman. A Christmas Story Time was presented by St. Pius Singers from Piscataway St. Pius X High School teenagers. Christmas Carols were sung while awaiting the ar­rival of Santa Claus (our Ed Miller). The children were then presented with a gift and candy canes as they talked with Santa. Thanks to the following for an enjoy­able afternoon, Lillian Thomas, George Thomas, Elizabeth Gyorgdeak, John Hege­dűs, Anthony Vass, James Marko, Irene Evans, Alex Horvath, Edward Miller, Michael Hegedűs, Barbara Hegedűs and Joseph Arvay. Election of Officers for the year 1973 was held on Monday, December 18, 1972 and they are as follows: Joseph Arvay, President; Lillian Thomas, Vice Presi­dent; Barbara Hegedűs, English Secre­tary; Alex Horvath, Hungarian Secretary; Irene Evans, Treasurer; Elizabeth Gyorgy­­deak, James Marko and Anthony Vass, Auditors. 24 Chicago, 111. Branch 24 held its Election of Officers Saturday, December 9, 1972. The follow­ing Officers were elected for 1973. Mr. Charles Akai, President; Mr. Joseph Revay, Vice-President; Mrs. Betty Akai, Corresponding Secretary and Re­porter; Mrs. John Kovach, Recording Secretary; Mrs. Helen Revay, Treasurer; Auditing Committees are: Mrs. Betty Hartly and Mr. Bert Garzsik. Entertain­ment Committee: Mr. Leslie Horvath and Mrs. Rose Horvath. After the meeting a delicious lunch and refreshments were served. Just a remind­er to our fellow members. Dobson, Chicago, 111. 60619 Branch 24 held its annual Christmas Party Saturday, December 9, 1972 at 2:30 P. M. at Old Fellows Hall. I am sorry to report, due to bad weather conditions many of our Children were un­able to attend. Approximately 35 Children attended. The Children and grown-ups enjoyed singing Christmas carols. Santa arrived with goodies for the Children. Delicious refreshments were served to all. All those who were present enjoyed a most wonderful afternoon. Our president. Mr. Charles Akai again, did a good job filling in for good old Santa. The Officers and members of Branch 24 are truly gratified to the Home Office for its generous contributions in helping make our party a success. 27 Toledo, Ohio The annual Children’s Christmas Party of Branch 27, Toledo, Ohio was held at St. Stephen’s Church Hall on Sunday, December 17, 1972 at 2:00 P. M. The children were treated with goodies until the much-awaited arrival of Santa (Robert Pompos). Santa presented each child with a beautiful gift. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire committee who made this successful party: Branch President and Mrs. John Nagy, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen J. Ivancso, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Julius Feyes, Mr. and Mrs. James Percei, Stephen J. Ivancso, Jr., Maggie Ivancso, Peggy Vishi and Lisa Reeder. Mary Ivancso, Treasurer 28 Youngstown, Ohio Awaiting children welcomed, the tra­ditional Santa Claus at the annual Christ­mas Party, which was held at St. Stephen’s Church Hall, on December 10, 1972 at 2:30 P. M. Santa joined in the carol singing and story telling under the direction of Mary Tomcsak. Grotti clowns entertained youngsters, blowing up bal­lons into all shapes. Each child received gifts of candy and goodies, passed out by Santa Claus. Refreshments were enjoyed by everyone. Officers and Branch mem­bers John Kaluczky, Leslie Wash, Mary Tomcsak, helped make the party a suc­cess. President Jacques Palmer, welcomed all the children and parents to the festive party. Many thanks to the Home Office for their Christmas Check, which we re­ceived. It helps a lot. Election of new officers was held on our regular 2nd Tuesday of the month meet­ing night.
