Joseph E. Dudás, Mayor his membership at Branch 14 where he is still a member. Mr. Dudás is married and the father of three children. We extend congratulations to Mr. Dudás, we are always proud to know that one of our staunch members, with a Hungarian background becomes successful in public life. We wish you the best of luck in your new duties, we know that the people of the Community will be proud to have you as their Mayor. 15 Chicago, 111. Branch 15, Chicago, Illinois held its annual Christmas Party at the Latvania.i Center, 4146 Elston. Attendance this year was large. The party began with Secretary Stephen Hodits showing an hour length presentation of cartoon movies which was enjoyed by the children as well as the parents. Then, the perennial Santa Claus, President Joseph Hodits for the 25th year, appeared just as the cartoons ended. After the distribution of the presents, hot dogs and soda were given to the children. The movies were donated courtesy of The Hodits Family. The helpers of Santa were Mr. and Mrs. J. Galambos, Mr. A. Janovits, Mr. and Mrs. T. Polgar, Mr. and Mrs. F. Lakics, Mr. and Mrs. I. Bosits and Mrs. J. Hodits. Prior to the Christmas Party, Election of Officers was held and those elected were: Mr. Joseph Hodits, President; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lakics, Vice-Presidents; Mr. Stephen Hodits, Secretary-Treasurer; Mr. Imre Bosits, Auditor; Mr. Leslie Teklics, Auditor. Joseph Hodits, President 16 Perth Amboy, N. J. Branch 16 held its Annual Children’s Christmas Party at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall. Gary Kowal put on a Magic Show with the children participating. While awaiting Santa Claus to put in his appearance the children sang Christmas Carols, songs to the music of Walter Sobieski. Some of them also did a dance. Mrs. Ann Hrabar and Mrs. Mary Mészáros, Chairmen, would like to thank President Michael Hrabar, Branch Manager Stephen Mészáros, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Zegan, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hrabar, Mr. Aloysius Kreger, Miss Annette Hrabar and Frank Hrabar Jr. for their help in making our party a huge success. Branch Officers elected were: Michael Hrabar, President; Stephen Mészáros, Vice President; Aloysius Kreger, Treasurer; Mrs. Caroline Hrabar, Secretary; Mrs. Mary Mészáros, Mrs. Helen Zegan and Gordon Zegan, Auditors; Frank Hrabar, Entertainment Chairman; and Ann Hrabar, Reporter. We would like to congratulate President Hrabar on his election as a National Auditor. This is the first time anyone from Branch 16 has been elected a National Officer. Ann Hrabar, Reporter 19 New Brunswick, N. J. Our Annual Children’s Christmas Party which was held at the Hungarian American Athletic Club was largely attended by Children and Adults as usual. Branch President Joseph Arvay welcomed one and all after which he presented Bob Bokor a Magician who entertained for about an hour. National Director Michael Hegedűs then delivered greetings from National President Elmer Charles, the National Officers and Directors of our Association. Karen Thomas, Leslie Toth and Tara Malloy entertained with several Christmas Folk Hymns. Mrs. Evelyn Orlick led the singing of Christmas Carols. Santa Claus (Ed Miller) then made his appearance, the children went to him to receive their gifts, and then partook of candy, cookies and refreshments. The Annual Election of Officers was held on December 13th, 1971 and the following were elected for the year 1972: Joseph Arvay, President; Lilliam Thomas, Vice President; Barbara Hegedűs, English Secretary; Alex Horvath, Hungarian Secretary; Irene Evans, Treasurer; and Anthony Vass, John Hegedűs, Elizabeth Gyorgydeak, Auditors. Barbara Hegedűs, Reporter 22 Roebling, N. J. On December 12, 1971, Branch 22 held its annual Christmas Party for the children. We did not have the large turnout that we expected, but for those who attended, a good time was had by all. We were fortunate to have an interesting wild-life film from the New Jersey State Museum, refreshments, presents for all, and a visit by Santa Claus. We recently held elections, and our new officers for 1972 are as follows: President: Bela Emri, Vice-President: Joseph Tátrái, Recording Secretary: Anna Bordash, Sec’y-Treasurer: Zoltán B. Emri, Auditors: George Bucs and John Talpos. Our regular monthly meetings will be held on the 4th Tuesday of each month. We would really like to see the Branch members take a renewed interest in Branch affairs, and attend these meetings. Zoltán B. Emri, Br. Mgr. 24 Chicago, 111. Branch 24 held its annual Children’s Christmas Party. I am happy to report our party was a huge success. Approximately 47 children and 35 grownups attended. Our program was short, but very enjoyable. Lisa Akai, age 6 and Nancy Akai, age 8 made a hit singing the Twelve Days of Christmas Song. Steven Fury, age 5 also made a hit singing two sweet songs. Christmas Carols were sung by all. Santa arrived to pass out gifts and candy to the children. Delicious refreshments were served to all. Branch 24 is grateful to the Home Office for its generous contribution which helped make our party a success. We say thank you. Our President, Mr. Charles Akai did a good job as Santa again. Also thank you to our hard working Officers and Committees. Branch 24 held its Election of Officers, Saturday, December 11, 1971. The following officers were elected for 1972. Charles Akai, President; Joseph Revay, Vice President; Mrs. John Kovach, Recording Secretary; Mrs. Betty Akai, Reporter and Corresponding Secretary; Entertainment Committee: Mr. Nicholas Benda, Mrs. Irene Benda; Auditing Committee: Mrs. Helen Revay, Mrs. Betty Hartly. Approximately 30 members were present. Delicious refreshments were served after the meeting. Card games were played. Jest a reminder to all our fellow members, Branch meeting every second Saturday of each month. Please join us and spend an enjoyable evening. Branch 24 extends to all a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. Betty Akai, Reporter 28 Youngstown, Ohio Branch 28 held its annual Children’s Christmas Party at St. Stephen’s of Hungary Church Hall. Approximately 35 children and their parents attended. The program included the singing of Christmas Carols, directed by Louise Horvath and Mary Tomcsak. The Grotto Clowns, entertained the children. Santa Claus gave out presents. Refreshments of cookies, soda pop and popcorn balls were passed out. There were funny books and Carol books, and 30 $1.00 bills given out as prizes, by our President Jacquie Palmer.
