Danko, 17275 Cedarlawn, Southgate. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Julia Szatmári, of Budapest, and the late Stephen Szatmári. Miss Danko, a graduate of Schafer High School, Southgate, attends Elmhurst (Illinois) College. Miss Danko is the daughter of Director and Mrs. Stephen Danko and granddaughter of former Auditing Committee Chairman Gaspar Papp. 19 New Brunswick, N. J. Our Christmas Party will be held on December 13th at the H.A.A.C. Auditorium, 198 Somerset St., New Brunswick, N. J. from 2 P. M. to 4 P. M. Entertainment, gifts and goodies. All William Penn Children members are invited between the ages of 0-12. The invitations are being sent out. Our regular monthly meetings are held every third Monday of the month at the District Office, 208 Somerset Street. Election of Officers meeting will be held on Monday, December 21st. Please try to attend all our meetings. The New Jersey Annual Dinner-Dance Committee held its second meeting and decided to hold the next affair on April 24th. 1971 at 6 P. M. at the H.A.A.C. Auditorium, 198 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, N. J. Participating branches are: Perth Amboy, Passaic, Newark, Roebling, Trenton, New Brunswick. It was decided that 50 per cent of the proceeds will be given to the William Penn Scholarship Foundation. Music by the famous Kara-Nemeth Orchestra. Barbara Hegedűs, Reporter 28 Youngstown, Ohio Your Reporter wishes to apologize for not having any news in the August issue. She was hospitalized for 45 days. Our Sunday Mixed Bowling League is in full swing and our bowlers are getting ready for the Pittsburgh Tournament. League President Jack Palmer bowled games of 216-232-201—649. He wished be could have done that well in Toledo. Leo Hrecska bowled games of 209-202- 232—643, Paul Toth had a 210 and Butch Nehls 234-155-177—566. The Ladies had Linda Nehls 190. Sheryl Bunchy 183, Marge Milligan 180 and Mary Cornman 175. They are doing fine and hope in 1971 they will do better than in 1970. Although we had Kay Novak and Ann Novak (sisters-in-law) come in doubles, also Helen Kaluczky and Marge Burnett. Our Children’s Christmas Party will be held December 13th at St. Stephen’s Hall, 854 Wilson Avenue at 3 p. m. Santa will be there with his helpers. Gifts, refreshments and surprises. A Happy Birthday to those who will celebrate in November, December and January. Happy Anniversary Wishes to those who will celebrate in November, December and January. Some of our members spent 3 to 4 weeks in Hungary, Germay, etc., and they had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of their trip. Our President Mr. John Bunchy still talks about his trip. He finally saw Hungary again after 48 years. Branch 048 of New York City held a successful Dinner and Dance on October 10th, 1970, at which time Mrs. Anna Varga, Recording Secretary was honored and received the Illustrious Citation and Service Pin awarded by the Board of Directors and National Officers. The singing of the American National Anthem was led by Mr. Walter Huthansel and the Hungarian by Miss Margaret Emody. The Invocation was given by Rev. Father Emeric Szlezak, of the Church of St. Stephen of Hungary. Mrs. Walter Huthansel opened the festivities by introducing Branch President Albert Ibos, who greeted the assembled guests wishing them a most hearty appetite and a pleasant evening. At the conclusion of a most delicious Roast Beef Dinner, Branch President Ibos then introduced Director Joseph Toma asking him to introduce the various dignitaries and representatives of surrounding branches and local societies. Branch President and Mrs. Stephen Lakatos of Br. 051, Passaic, N. J., who led a very large delegation from this Branch. Branch President and Mrs. Stephen Vechy of Br. 013, Trenton, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. Karoly and Mr. and Mrs. Melnik represented Br. 076 of Phila., Pa. Branch President and Mrs. Michael Hrabar of Br. 016 Perth Amboy, N. J., unfortunately were unable to attend, however they did send a delegation to represent this branch. The New York Charity Society, with a large delegation was represented by Paul Korniczky, President and Mrs. Molly Fischer, Secretary. The Harlem Society was represented by Mrs. Andrew Spisak, President.
