Br. 48, N. Y. Honors with Testimonial Two of Its Officers Honored Guests receiving their Illustrious Citations, left to right: Mrs. Mary Huthansel, National Vice President Varga, C. Fabian, National President Charles. A testimonial was held on Saturday, October 18th, 1969 honoring the two Vice Presidents of Branch 48 New York for their faithful and loyal service to the Branch for more than 15 years. It was held at the St. Mary’s Church of the Byzantine Auditorium with a dinner and dance. National President Elmer Charles gave a resume of the activities of the honored guests Vice President Mary Huthansel and Vice President Charles Fabian. He thanked them for devoting time for “fraternalism” serving the members of Branch 48 and also their parents for enrolling them into our Association many years ago. “Yes, their parents deserve much credit and many thanks, for giving us these diligent officers,” said Mr. Charles. Honored guest, Mary Huthansel, thanked Mr. Charles for his kind words. Her acceptance was heartwarming and appreciative. She elaborated on thanking her fellow officers and members and especially her husband for supporting her in her endeavors at the Branch also her father who made her become a member of the organization. Honored guest, Charles Fabian, also thanked Mr. Charles and proceeded to thank the officers and members of Branch 48 for giving him the opportunity to enjoy receiving the Illustrious Citation. He gave thanks to his wife for the support he received and also to his parents. National Vice President, Louis L. Varga, who was present with his wife, presented the Pin and Scroll to the two honored guests. Several nearby branches were represented by the following: Director Frank Bero and Mrs. Bero from Branch 1, Bridgeport, Connecticut. Director Frank Radvany and Mrs. Radvany from Branch 13, Trenton, New Jersey accompanied by Branch President Stephen Vechy and Mrs. Vechy, Agency Manager Arpad Nagy, and Mrs. Nagy, Miss Margaret Kovaoh secretary at the Trenton District Office and members. Special Agent Stephen Mészáros and Mrs. Mészáros represented Branch 16 from Perth Amboy. Branch 51 was also represented. Branch 19 of New Brunswick, N. J. was represented by Director Michael Hegedűs and Mrs. Hegedűs and accompanied by members. Local organizations also came to honor the guests. The Mother’s Club, the Altar Society and the Catholic War Veterans all a part of the St. Stephen’s Church of Hungary in New York City. Invocation was given by Father Eles, of the Holy Cross Church and Benediction was given by Father Emerick Szlezak, of the St. Stephen’s Church of Hungary. Branch President Albert Ibos, acted as Master of Ceremonies together with Director Joseph Toma, who introduced the guests and conveyed the best wishes of the National Officers and Board members to everyone.
