He is a life long member of the William Penn Fraternal Association. Karoly Kiss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kiss, 1925 Lawndale, Detroit, has been promoted to sergeant in the Karoly Kiss Air Force. He is a jet engine mechanic at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., in a unit of the Strategic Air Command. He is a graduate of Aero Mechanical Vocational High School, Detroit. Sgt. She attended the 11th National Youth Conference on the Atom in Chicago, October 23 to 25 as the guest of Public Service Electric and Gas Co. In all, eight science students residing in the Public Service area and three science teachers, were the guests of the company. Dorlinda, as a Sophomore, was selected as an alternate from Burlington County. This year’s conference is being cosponsored by the National Science Teachers Association and the Future Scientists of America Foundation. Formally cooperating organizations include Argonne National Laboratory, Armour Research Foundation, Atomic Industrial Forum, Museum of Science and Industry, Science Clubs of America and the University of Chicago. Dorlinda Varga Dorlinda is a member of the William Penn Fraternal Association, Branch 22. She along with her sisters and brother have been members since birth. Emri Branch Manager MAN OF YEAR' SELECTED BY AREA REALTORS BOARD Our National Director, Frank Bero, of 315 Algonquin Road, Fairfield, Conn., chairman of the Connecticut Real Estate commission, has been elected “Realtor of the year,” of the Greater Bridgeport Board of Realtors, in recognition of his service to the board. The current Connecticut “Realtor of the Year” is George M. Brown, of 72 Highway Drive, Stratford. He is president of the Greater Bridgeport Board of Realtors. The honor was awarded at the NIREB convention in November, Director Frank Bero reeceives "Realtor of the Year" award from current "Realtor of the Year" George AA. Mr. Bero heads his own real estate and insurance firm which bears his name at 856 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport. It was founded 27 years ago. He is a past president of the Greater Bridgeport Board of Realtors, Inc. and is presently serving as a member of the board of directors. He was originally appointed a commissioner of the Connecticut Real Estate Board in 1967 for a one year term. Reappointed in October 1968, for a five year term, he was elected chairman of the state commission. He is a former commissioner of the Rooming House Appeals board of the city of Bridgeport, and is a member of the Mayors Reception committee. He is also a member of the Barnum Festival committee. On March 9, 1966, Mr. Bero established the “Frank Bero Library Fund” in the general area of real estate and economics at the University of Bridgeport. He is a member of the Connecticut Association of Real Estate Board, National Association of Real Estate Boards and the Broker’s Institute. He is president, Branch 1, William Penn Fraternal Association. Active in community affairs, he is a former director of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Mr. Bero serves on the steering committee of the Boy Scout Pomperaug council. For three years, he served on the committee of the Girl Scouts of America. A consistory member of the United Church of Christ, he serves on the finance and building committee. He was chosen “Father of the Year,” in 1966 by the United Church of Christ. He is a sponsor of the Brooklawn Little League and a member of the YMCA and the Algonquin club. He is a member of the “American Hungarian Studies Foundation.” Mr. Bero is married to the former Julia C. Fox and they have five children. 3
