Our “congratulations” to the editors and home office officials for revising our publication. I’m sorry we missed some publicity in the first issue — but the new magazine “William Penn Life” was a surprise. However, I hope our Philadelphia members will now look forward to our articles each month. But to “back-track” a little. Our December meeting was important, in that we had our election of officers for the coming New Year. The results were as follows: President — Mr. Anthony Noel; Vice-president — Mr. Joseph Strippo; Secretary — Mr. Daniel Rosenfeld; Treasurer — Mr. Stephen Szemes; Auditors — Mr. Joseph Karoly, Mr. Louis Lovas, and Mr. Michael Toth; Entertainment Chairman, Mr. Carmen J. Mudry and Publicity Reporter — Mrs. Julie Mudry Melnick. We welcome aboard two former Branch 87 members, Mr. Strippo and Mr. Toth, as fellow branch 76 officers. Our Christmas Party, held December 17th, was such fun for the young and parents alike. We wish to add our picture to the Christmas Collection which shows some of the happy faces of early arrivals. Our warmest thanks to Daniel Rosenfeld, who made such a lovable Santa Claus, giving those cherished Christmas presents to the wideeyed youngsters. And in the midst of those children’s carols of joy, we actually were saying good-bye to 1967 and hoping for a fine hello for the New Year of 1968. Our January meeting was a rewarding one, where many of us attended with renewed enthusiasm for the coming New Year. We discussed the up-coming Bowling Tournament to be held in Youngstown, Ohio on June 1st and 2nd. Bowlers, please contact your Captains and report to our meeting. More information will follow later. — We also discussed our plans for the Fall Banquet. We will give more details on this also, so watch our column for news of this great event to come! — Plans are being made for a Summer Picnic. We had such fun last summer, and we are planning another one this summer to be held in July at the Hungarian Club on their beautiful, spacious grounds. So you see, dear Members, we are trying our best to provide some enjoyment for each of you. Our meetings are always a joy to attend, and of course, many serious businesses are discussed and taken care of. To those of you who have, or will, celebrate a brithday or anniversary, our best wishes. To those of you who don’t feel “up to par” just now, our sincere hope you all will be feeling better very soon. Until our next meeting — the 2nd Saturday evening in March at the Hungarian Club, 1125 Southampton Road, Phila., Pa. - or until we met again through this column of our new magazine “William Penn Life” remember, we can’t write news without you! Julie Melnick 249 Dayton, Ohio Branch 249 of Dayton, held its annual Christmas Party on December 10th, 1967, at Holy Name Hall, and will be remembered by those who attended as a most enjoyable afternoon. Christmas movies were shown, followed by the singing of Christmas carols. Joseph Demeter, grandson of Director Louis and Mrs. Vassy, played the piano during the caroling. Dear “Ole Santa” made his most welcomed appearance and as always had lovely gifts and goodies for the children. Refreshments were also served. Special thanks are in order to all those who helped make it such a great success. Preceeding the party the annual branch meeting was held, during which time election of officers was held. The following were elected: Mr. John Motko, 7
