(49) engineers and researchers engaged in the investigation of various problems of water economy planning in the course of stud g tours beyond the borders of the country. The aim followed in doing so is to compile and properly evaluate the information gathered, and to distribute this at home. It is intended to thereby widen the horizon also for those hydraulic engineers, who had no opportunity to gain personal experience on these problems. From among the wealth of information certain subjects are being dealt with by the participants of the study tours in the papers published herewith. They endeavoured to present a slightly more detailed treatment, so that, owing to the restricted space available, not all problems studied during the last year could be included. The purpose of this, however, was rather to publish information which has deemed most significant. Various institutions, of the countries visited contributed greatly to the success of these study tours and gave every help to extend the field of information. Particular thanks are due in this respect to the institutions and authorities listed below : 1. To these Institutions, to the leaders and collaborators of these institutions as well as to many others, where and whom our hydraulic engineers visited and who were of great help in obtaining every possible information, we wish to express our deep appreciation on the columns of Hydraulic Engineering. The Editor COMPTES BENDUS DE VOYAGES D'ÉTUDE Le présent fascicule de la Bevue d'Hydraulique rompt avec l'habitude de publier des éludes consacrées aux travaux hydrauliques de Hongrie ou aux problèmes scientifiques pratiques économiques et de droit les plus divers qui s'y rattachent. Cette fois-ci nous résumons quelques-unes des expériences que nos ingénieurs hydrauliciens et nos chercheurs s'occupant des diverses questions de l'économie hydraulique ont cueuillies au cours de leurs voyages d'étude au delà des frontières du pays. En résumant et analysant ainsi les expériences acquises notre but est de les transmettre aux milieux intéressés du pays et d'élargir ainsi l'horizon de ceux qui ne pouvaient guère acquérir des expériences personnelles dans les problèmes soulevés. Les participants des voyages d'étude n'ont communiqué dans leurs études publiées que quelques-unes de leurs expériences, qu'ils se sont efforcés de traiter en détail. Ce fascicule ne contient donc guère la description de toutes les questions étudiées l'année passée. Ce n'était d'ailleurs pas notre but, notre intention ayant été de ne leur demander que la communication des expériences les plus importantes. Au cours des voyages d'étude les institutions des divers pays ont fourni beaucoup d'aide pour que les expériences embrassent un domaine des plus larges.
