Győr-Révfalu

pesti műegyetem professzora eredetileg Nádorvárosba tervezte, de az akkori helyhatósági szakértő döntése értelmében mégis Révfalun építették meg. Később kiderült, hogy a szakértő tévedett, mivel a torony kedvezőtlen hatást gyakorolt a nyomásviszonyokra. Ennek ellenére egészen 1965-ig üzemben maradt. A második világháború idején a közvetlen környékét szőnyegbombázás pusztította, ám a torony viszonylag sértetlenül úszta meg a légicsapást. A torony ma egy panzió területén található, és jelenlegi tulajdonosa érthető módon a turisztika szolgálatába szeretné állítani: szállodát létesítene benne. A felújítási munkálatok már elkezdődtek, és remélhetőleg Győr második legpatinásabb víztornya hamarosan üzemelni fog új szerepkörében.

work. The 50 m high reinforced concrete water tower was completed in 1910. The monument was originally planned for Nádorváros but this changed due to a decision taken by a local expert. However this expert later was proved to be wrong, and the tower had a negative effect on the water pressure. Despite this the tower remained in operation until 1965. During World War II the tower's surroundings were destroyed by saturation bombing but the tower itself survived the attack without any major damage. Today the tower is part of a hotel property, and the owner wants to exploit its tourist potential and turn the tower into a hotel. The renovation work has already started and the second most well known water tower of Győr will hopefully start its new function soon.
