Members of this branch are to pay their dues as heretofore at the Verhovay Home Office, 436 Fourth Ave., Pittsburgh 19, Pennsylvania.---------------------------------Attention Columbus Bowlers The Columbus Verhovay Bowling League will bowl on Monday evenings instead of on Sunday, and the Parsons Recreation Alleys will be the new location. This change of schedule will give more players an opportunity to bowl without interfering with their Sundays which they prefer to spend with their families. The league wlil be made up of ten teams. All those interested in bowling with the league should contact the manager of Branch 129, Columbus, Ohio, District Manager Louis Tokár, by telephoning HI 4-2760, or leaving name, address and telephone number at the Verhovay Home, 1501 Parson Avenue, Columbus 7, Ohio. Early registration will prevent disappointment. Also, last year team captains should inform the league whether they plan to retain the same teams this coming season, and must register all their bowlers by following the same instructions as appear above. May the delegates of the new society, the William Penn Fraternal Association, set a foundation that will be as solid as the rock of Gibraltar, and that the house built on this foundation be as strong and stately as the mighty oak, and that the leaders who shall guide the affairs of the William Penn Fraternal Association be constantly mindful of the rights of the members whom they represent. JOHN SABO Editor National Auditor MINUTES OF THE DISTRICT SESSIONS District 13 The meeting is held on June 12, 1955 in the Hungarian Home at Daisytown, Pennsylvania. 1. Alexander Debreczeni, Sr. opens the meeting at 1:00 A.M., greeting warmly the delegates, then requests their credentials. Present are: Stephen Ivan, Br. 7. Pricedale, Pa.; Daniel Matto, Br. 16, Star Junction, Pa.; Joseph Benko, Br. 43, Brownsville, Pa.; John Grega, Br. 57, Clarksburg, W. Va.; Alexander Debreczeni, Sr. and Alexander Hajdú, Br. 85, Daisytown, Pa.; John A. Jeso, Br. 150, Masontown, Pa.; John G. Miranov, Br. 348, Mona, W. Va.; Joseph Domonkos, Br. 389, Perryopolis, Pa.; Emery Salamon Br. 399, Richeyville, Pa.; Joseph Fulop, Br. 548, Rivesville, W. Va.; Ladislaus Elekes, Br. 566, Farmington, W. Va. Twelve delegates represent 11 branches. The district chairman asks for the reading and approval of the minutes of the June 25,1951 session. The minutes are signed by Joseph Benko and John Grega. 3. Ladislaus Elekes (Br. 566) proposes that members with $500 certificates be eligible for election as Convention delegates. After discussions, this is approved. 4. Delegate Elekes recommends that the Illustrious Citation and Gold Medal be mailed to those members receiving this Association honor, without the present custom of formal presentation at a branch affair. This is accepted. 5. Delegate Elekes seeks the discontinuance of the National Verhovay Bowling Tournaments, stating that all Verhovay bowling should be sponsored by the individual branches at their own expense. After debating at length, District 13 decides to support this proposal. 6. John G. Miranov (Br. 348) suggests that the branch managers receive higher commissions for new members, stating too that the 4% collection fee is not enough. This is approved. 7. Delegate Miranov proposes that the Association have a home built for the homeless aged. This is unanimously supported after a thorough discussion. 8. Delegate Elekes recommends the establishment of a fund for the aged. Each member would pay one cent a month into this fund. The meeting accepts this proposal. 9. Delegate Elekes proposes that after every deceased member the Verhovay Treasury send ten dollars for flowers. The motion is accepted. 10. John A. Jeso (Br. 150) recommends that members having Sick Benefit coverage should receive the benefits for life or until they have withdrawn all the insurance due them, and length of membership should have no bearing on this. The proposal is accepted. 11. Delegate Miranov asks for the initiation of family group insurance. His motion is supported. 12. The following are elected delegates and alternate delegates to the Verhovay Convention: DELEGATES: Alexander Debreczeni (10 votes), Daniel Matto (9), John Grega (7); ALTERNATE DELEGATES: Emery Salamon (4 votes), Joseph Fulop (4), Joseph Benko (2). 13. Elected district officers are: Alexander Debreczeni, Sr., district chairman; Stephen Ivan, vice-chairman; Daniel Matto, district recorder. ,14. The elected, both for the district and for the Convention, thank the delegates for their votes and confidence in them, promising ever to keep before them the best interests of the Association. 15. The expenses of this meeting amount to $397.75. 16. The next district session will be held in the Daisytown Hungarian Home. The district chairman adjourns the meeting by thanking the delegates for their extraordinary interest in the welfare of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association and their diligent efforts at this district session. ■ ALEXANDER DEBRECZENI, SR.
