This change of schedule will give more players an opportunity to bowl without interfering with their Sun­days which they prefer to spend with their families. The league will be made up of ten teams. The manager of Branch 129, Dis­trict Manager Louis Tokár, considers the bowling program of his branch paramount business, and this em­phasis on Verhovay’s most popular sport is carried on by a group of Co­lumbus fepiale keglers known as •LOU TOKAR’S VERHOVAY IN­SURANCE. / Recently the Tokár team elimina­ted a first place tie with the Allen Milk team by winning three games in a showdown match for the cham­pionship in the Swan Major Women’s League. CIVIL DEFENSE Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Alexander Gyulav A double ring ceremony united in marriage Peggy Oster and Thomas Alexander Gyulay at the first Metho­dist church of Sherman Oaks, Califor­nia, with the Rev. Randall Phillips officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sid Oster of Van Nuys, Ca­lifornia, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Gyu­lay, also of Van Nuys. The bride was attended by Pat Hawks maid of honor, and Sally Baker, Barbara Alexander and Lor­raine Wilkey, bridesmaids. Dr. Edward Kamenar, brother-in­­law of the bridegroom, was best man, while Jack Wright, Vic Gon­nella and Mike Vaccarro seated the guests. A reception followed the church service. The newlyweds are making their home in Panorama City. The elder Gyulay is a Director of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association and manages the large Branch 525 in Los Angeles. He be­came a full time Verhovay organi­zer while still living in Detroit, Mi­chigan. As a veteran member and worker, Director Gyulay has en­rolled many in the Association, and it is quite understandable that his own family is one and all Verhovay­­insured. MINUTES OF THE DISTRICT SESSIONS District 8-D The meeting is held on June 12, 1955. 1. President John P. Balia calls the meeting to order. 2. Recording secretary Edward A. Mattie reads the minutes of the previous district meeting which was held June 17, 1951. 3. At this time the qualifications and requirements are explained to the meeting. 4. Nominations for district delegate are opened. 5. Nominations are closed and the membership unanimously elects John P. Balia as district delegate. 6. Nominations are then opened for alternate delegate. 7. Julius Telegdy is elected alternate delegate. 8. It is regularly moved and seconded that a committee be appointed to study and make recommendations for’ presenting resolutions* to the Con­vention. 9. Appointed to this committe are: Stephen Üveges, chairman; Joseph Barta, Stephen Nagy, Edward A. Mattie, Alex Toaso, Joseph Balia, Joseph Kowalski and Julius Telegdy. 10. Peter Suprak, Branch 61, Vintondale, Pa., is elected district chairman; Andrew Toth, Barnesboro, Pa., is elected district recorder. Messrs. The motion is made to accept all terms and agreements and amendments to the new Bylaws as set up for the cwming Verhovay Convention in Septem­ber, 1955, including the merger and new name. A majority vote passes the multiple motion.
