The Board of Directors, in session that week, the National Officers, the Home Office personnel and others attended the colorful testimonial dinner.) Seated, left to right: Gaspar Papp, Chairman of the Auditing Committee; Miss Frances Furedy, Assistant to the National Auditor; National President John Bencze; Mrs. Stephen Stefurosky Dudrick, employee with longest service at the Home Office; William C. Banes, General Counsel; Gus G. Nagy, Supervisor of Field II. April is now the past and we are in the beautiful month of May, when the flowers begin to bloom and the men folks start cutting the grass and, weeding gardens, trimming- hedg-es and various sundry work about the house, as the women are going’ about their spring cleaning. As I write this, thinking about our May Dance on the 7th of May, I realize that it will be a thing of the past when you read this article, but I sincerely hope that we will have a very good turnout at this affair. We are going to have a return match with the Branch 130 bowlers on the afternoon of this dance. I am hoping that we can take them into camp as they took us in East Chicago. The scores of that East Chicago match are as follows: Our =pl team for that night lost its match 2257 to 2396, or by 139 pins. It was composed of Joe Hodits, Alex Ronto, Frank Földi, Louis Bagladi and Ernie Taylor. Their team was J. Kitchen, J. Cheranko, J. Banina. F. Falusi and J. Szakacs. Team #2 lost its match by 175 pins as it scored 2104 against 2279. This team consisted of Irene Exner, Louis Hetzel, Emery Pinces, John Wesesku and Joe Exner. Their team was Joe Balogh, Simon, Susie, Frank Zeler and Bob. Our team #3 did the best as it won its match by 188 pins, totals being 1952 against 1764. The team was Julius Igyarto, Alex Gyure, Louis Bachi, Betty Taylor and Paul Hetzel. Thejr team was Steve Menich, Joe Várhegyi, John Balogh, Joe Farkas and Frank Salig-i. The total outcome was nob too bad as we lost the entire match by only 126 pins over the nine games. The beg-your-pardon department is now at work. It seems that I had forgotten about a couple of vacationers that we had when I wrote the last article, The John Stoika’s visited Arizona and California, also the Steve Herczeg’s were on vacation during the month of April. On Saturday, April the 30th, we held our Bowlers’ Banquet at the Northwestern Hall, and I believe every one had a pleasant time. At this banquet we had a visitor from the Home Office, Elmer Charles, Field Assistant to the National President. Mr. Charles helped officiate at this banquet. Our heartiest congratulations to Joe Hodits, president of the bowling league, Steve Horvath the secretary, Matt Balog- the treasurer, for the fine evening that they prepared for. the benefit of the bowling league. At this time we also held the elections for the officials of the bowling league for the 1955- 1956 season, and the following were elected: Paul Hetzel, president, Steve Horvath, secretary, and Matt Balog, treasurer. We also had visitors from Braneh 50 on the south side, in the persons of District Manager Frank J. Kajdi and his pretty wife. The sponsors who were present included Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fodor of the! Modem Beauty Salon, Mr. and Mrs. Rickett, the proprietors- of Rickett’s Restaurant, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Spieler of the wholesale jewelery business, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tisinai, who took home the Sponsors Trophy. Olga Kunstadt has the highest average for the -women. I should mention that Steve Tisinai is in the wholesale plumbing supply business, World Plumbing Supply Co. The men’s trophies were not given out because, of a tight race, but it looks like the Rickett’s will take the team title to our bowling league. MUCH LUCK FELLOWS. In last months’ article -I wrote that Mrs. George Gray, the former Helen Balog, was blessed with a daughter. Somehow the wording xwas mixed up, and it was printed that “Mrs. George Gray, the well known Matt Balog, was blessed with an 8 lb. daughter.” The original line was, “Mrs. George Gray, the former Helen Balog, the NIECE of our well known Matt Balog, was blessed with an 8 lb. girl whom they have named Mary Ellen.” Helen Balog is the daughter of Mr. Fred Balog residing on Talman Avenue and her brothers are Fred Jr., William and Raymond. Fred Sr. is the brother of Matt. I hope-that this will take care of the error and that Matt will get back the price of a box of cigars. I also hope that the few strands of hair that 1 have will remain on my head and people will stop pulling what little I have left. Thanks, folks. Our sick members are starting to get well, and since I wrote last the following were stricken with some illness: Marg Fodor was in -and out of the hospital, Mrs. Stefan Stefely of 1729 Lotus Ave is on the sick list, and one of our members in Elsinor, California, Mr. Stephen Small, reported sick. William Gergely of Englewood, Florida also reported sick, but I hear that he is on the. road to recovery. Mrs. Andrew Wolitski is entering- the hospital for an operation.
