At this meeting there will be a general ejection of officers for the year 1955, and also at this same meeting there will be an election of district convention delegates for any change in the bylaws that have been recommended by the Board of Directors. The Verhovay bowling league met the Bonada Ladies’ Bowling- Teem on November 6, 1954. After a tough fight, the Verhovay team won with an overall total of 85-10. This reporter was told that the fight was a good one and both sides are looking- forward to a return match. The regular Friday night meetings of the bowlers at the Dalarda are still going strong, and that is good news for all concerned about the bowling tournament in the future. They are in tip-top shape, it is said, and I’m sure everyone is glad to hear that. There will be a Christmas Party at the Dalarda the Sunday before Christmas, December 19, 1954, for members, their children, and grandchildren. This will be discussed further in the next writing. All the officers and members wish to extend a heartfelt and speedy recovery to Dan Rosenfeld after his operation. He is much better now and will soon, we hope, be back to his old self. By this time, all the turkey is gone and only the memories of Thanksgiving Day, 1954, remain with us. Even if it is belated, I’d like to speak ray Thanksgiving for this year. Words, I think, that are echoed and were echoed around all the tables at Thanksgiving dinner. The thanks for the peace that is with us. The first actual peace from war in a long time. But also, in the same breath, a prayer that the peace be forever, ‘not just temporary. The prayer that our sons, husbands, and sweethearts won’t be in another war, fighting for their lives and ours, come Thanksgiving Day-1955. -----------Äcyßfc»----------The same persons who complain that they cannot see their way in life frequently make spectacles of themselves. ------------vslj'tt»-'------------The secret of good health lies not so much in eating half of what you do as in saying one-tenth of what you say. —-------------------------------Some people think they’re hammering another’s character when all they’re doing is nailing down their own.
