The latest newlyweds at our branch are Charles “Sonny” Torrez and his lovely young wife Margaret Louise “Snooky” Fodor, who were wed in the deep South, in Georgia. The reception given in their honor was held at Lakeview Recreation Hall and was attended by approximately 300 persons, who greatly enjoyed the great variety of food and the dancing to Sepessy’s orchestra. Margaret Louise is the daughter of Louis C. Fodor, Jr., Branch 15’s treasurer, and her mother, Margaret! Fodor, is quite active on our entertainment committee. Chuck is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Torrez of North Ashland Avenue. Much luck and happiness to the newlyweds. I was glad to hear that Mrs. Joseph B. Iroeky is on the road to recovery after her recent illness. Perhaps the joy of two new grandchildren helped speed the recovery. Her son and daughter-in-law, the Joseph J. Irocky’s, were blessed with a son, Dennis Joseph Iroeky, who was born January 20, 1954, a healthy 9 lbs. 2i o'zs. Then to make matters Seven more pleasant, her daughter and son-in-law, the William Schneider’s, were blessed with a baby girl who was named Margaret Ann Schneider and whose birth date was March 21. Baby Margaret tipped the scales at 6 lbs. 9 ozs. Congratulations to the happy parents of both babies as well as to the happy grandparents. Mrs. G. Wojtas is on the sick list. We hope that she is now well on the road to recovery. In parting, I just wish to say six more words: Our MAY DANCE is MAY 15. United in marriage in a candlelight ceremony in the Epiphany Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 6, at 4:00 P.M. were Robert F. Kantor and Elsie M. Gyiraszin. Maid of honor was Julia Schvarckopf of Detroit; bridemaids were: Jane Mayer of Chicago, Sylvia Kota of Muskegon, Michigan, Virginia Kulek of Detroit, Lillian Haranda of Bay City, Michigan, Betty SchVarckopf of Detroit, and Emma Donaldson of Lincoln Park, Michigan. The bride wore a beautiful gown of imported chantilly lace over candle-light satin with an enormously long train, a coronation type head crown trimmed with delicate orange blossoms and a finger tip veil. She carried a large cascade of white gardenias with two large white orchids. The maid of honor carried a GIVE BIGOD MOW CALL YOUR RED CROSS TODAY! * NATIONAL BLOOD PROGRAM * CONTRIBUTED AS A PUBLIC SERVICE cascade bouquet of red roses and the brides-maids carried cascade bouquets of yellow tea roses, the flower girl carried ’ a small cascade of red roses. A sumptuous dinner and lavish entertainment awaited the nearly 800 guests who appeared for the reception at 6:30. Joseph Balint’s orchestra furnished the music. After an automobile trip to Mobile. Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Los Angeles, California, where the young couple spent a week, they returned to Detroit where they are making their home with the bride’s mother. The bride, daughter of Mrs. John Gyiraszin, manager of Branch 500, and the late John Gyiraszin, is employed at the Lincoln-Mercury Division where she is doing secretarial work. The groom, a veteran of the Korean War, is employed at the Ethyl Corporation as a laboratory technician, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kantor, Sr., 6952 S. Bishop St., Chicago, Illinois. Our best wishes for a long and prosperous life in wedded happiness go to the handsome groom, Robert F. Kantor, and his beautiful bride, the former Elsie Gyiraszin. May their life together be richly blessed in all that makes for lasting happiness. Nature is willing to give you nearly everything you ask for, but she insists that you take it from her exactly the way she wants you to. ----------£a»-------------We all should pause at least once a year and seriously analyze ourselves to find out if we are only eating the peelings of life and throwing its richest fruit away.-------------a § /1&-'----------Short persons would do well always to remember that brains are measured from the chin up.
