Grape Harvest Festival Branch 278, Omaha, Nebraska A grape harvest festival, appropriately held Halloween night, Saturday October 31, 1953, enjoyed the success that marks all Branch 278 socials. The get-together took place at the American Hungarian Home. Only more attractive than the beautifully decorated hall were the costumes of the young folks who presented an array of varied colors and dress. The youngsters helped catch the apple and grape-pilfering culprits, taking them to “judge” Louis Beszedes who imposed a petty fine and was assisted by his “secretary,” Mrs. Joseph Vámosi. Prizes were awarded to Miss Therese Jean Rasey, Miss Virginia Agnes Kuti and Miss Carol Anne Zuroske, first, second and third, all members of Branch 278. The crown was won by Charles Szmrecsányi and awarded to him by president Joseph Fabian. Refreshments were served by Mrs Gaspar Kuti and Mrs. Alex Papp. The committee wishes to thank all who helped make this party the merry event it was.
