Branch 48 BOWLING MEETING A special meeting was held Friday night, November 6, 1953, at Arpad Hall, when the National Executive Tournament Committee, namely, Verhovay Journal PAGE 5 Vice President Dr. Andrew Kovács, Chairman, Director Albert Ibos, and National Auditor John Sabo, Tournanment Administrator, were present: to discuss the next Verhovay bowling tournament, to be held in New York City. Present also was Director Aloysius C. Falussy, member of Branch 48, and Field Supervisor Joseph Toma, manager of Branch 48. The members of the Nationalt Executive Tournament Committee! made a thorough study Of New York City before individually addressing Branch 48 at this meeting. Director Ibos spoke also as president of Branch 48. The appealing speech of Director Falussy brought forth unanimous assent by all the Branch members to assist in making the 1954 New York City tournament and fellowship days 'the most successful ever. After the meeting the ladies of the branch served luncheon and refreshments, and the pleasant gathering lasted until after mindnight. SCALP LEVEL, PA. Wedding oi Mr. and Mrs. Alex Üveges Miss Janice Reed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reed of RD 2, Apollo, Pa., Became the bride of Mr. Alexander Üveges, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Üveges of 211 Hill St., Kinlock, New Kensington, The Rev. C. E. Stalkman officiated at the single ring ceremony at 9:30 A. M. on October 24, 1953 in St. James Lutheran Church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white full length gown with fitted bodice. The bolero of the gown was lace with sleeves pointed at the wrists. She wore a white gold wrist watch gift of the bridgegroom. Her flowers were a colonial boquet of white roses centered with an orchid. The maid of honor was Miss Shirley Slasarik of Pittsburgh, friend of the bride. Her gown was pink ballerina length and she carried an arm boquet of pink and white carnations. Stephen Üveges. Jr. of New Kensington, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Miss Elizabeth George played traditional music and accompanied Robert Ruper who sang, “You Gome to Me.” For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Reed wore a beige dress with navy accessories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Üveges, mother of the bridegroom, was dressed in a gray suit wuth black accessories and an orchid corsage. A chicken dinner at 12:00 noon was held for the immediate, family at the bride’s home. A three tier cake topped with figures of a bridal couple centered the dinner table. When the couple left on their wedding trip, the bride wore a blue /and black suit dress with black accessories. They are now residing at 444 Freeport St.. New Kensington. Mrs. Üveges was employed by the Bell Telephone Company in Pittsburgh and Mr. Üveges is employed by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Creighton. DETROIT, MICHIGAN Branch 443 ELECTIONS, ETC.
