Branch 376 MARRIAGE and UNUSUAL HOBBY Barbara Marie Fetherol, member of Branch 376, was married Saturday, June 6th, to John F. Parocai, member of Branch 222, Canonsburg, Pa. The nuptials - were performed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairmont, W. Va. The bride’s father is Roman Fetherol, member of Branch 101, Uniontown, Pa. Mr. Fetherol has achieved fame for his unusual hobby of collecting four-leaf clovers, which hobby he has been pursuing since 1922. The late Robert Ripley immortalized him in his “Believe It or Not” series. At home in Fairmont, Roman Fetherol is known as the “Four-Leaf Clover Man” This man of the unusual hobby has distributed his four-leaf clovers to members of the armed forces, to the Red Cross, to those seeking work, etc. Indeed luck must follow the Four-Leaf Clover Man who has found some 200,000 lucky clovers since beginning his unique pursuit. We feel sure that one of Roman Fetherol’s wedding gifts to the newlyweds was the four-leaf clover! CAIRNBROOK, PA. Branch 517 NEW BRANCH MANAGER Mrs. Watson Greathouse, R. F. D. 2, Stoystown, Pa. Alas, alack! The bowlers are back from Toledo without a trophy.' I guess it just was not our year. But wait until next year. However, some of our bowlers will come in on the* money among them Irene Exner and Margaret Fodor, who came in tie for 5th place in the double event. Branch 15 was well represented in Toledo. Everybody had a good time. In fact, a few had such a good time that they had to stay over to recuperate from all the excitement. However, we do hope that next year the tournament wilt be held a little more to the west. MILWAUKEE would be grand. I know from remarks overheard that Chicago would be well represented if the tournament should be that close. The tournament in Toledo was a big event with teams from over all the United States. The teams coming from the greatest distance were Los Angeles, California. We thought St was splendid that they made this long drive to be at the tournament. That is real fraternalism. Our stay at the CommDiore Perry Hotel was Very pleasant. The bowling alleys were not far away and the bus service, leaving the hotel every half hour (on schedule) to the bowling alley, was good. However, the women had a bad handicap Saturday afternoon of bowling as it was too hot and sticky. It was very unpleasant bowling, and if you watched you could see them removing ear rings, necklaces, watches, pulling out their blouses, anything to try to tstop the perspiration from rolling down their foreheads. They say the iair conditioning was on, but where did all that heat come from? All in Jill our stay was pleasant and, Toledo, we thank you! Bad news awaited us upon our ireturn from Toledo. It is with sad.ness that we report that member Mrs. J. Poltarski passed away. Last rites were held at the St. Joseph Baptist Catholic Church, Wednesday morning, .June 3, 1953. To her son, daughter and relatives we wish to 'extend our deepest sympathy. May she rest in peace! WELCOME to new members Mrs. Irene Kruchten, Richard Mark Small, Charles Sitas ,James Sitas, Chad Sitas, Catherine Sitas, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Metz, Ireite Hunter, Doris Bero, Chas. Shaffran and Betty1 Reynolds. It is a pleasure to have you with us. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Maar of N. Monitor Avenue are proud grandparents. To Sharon Ann, her parents and her grandparents we extend our best wishes. We hope that Sharon Ann will soon be a Branch 15 member. The Clifford Olsen’s are stork-anticipating the latter part of July. We wish to thank the following members for their kind donations of refreshments for our May meeting.
