BENCZE-REVESZ ANNIVERSARY NEW MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN The members are aware of the fact that National President John Bencze has proclaimed May 30-31, 1952 NATIONAL VERHOVAY FELLOWSHIP DAYS. May 30-31 are the dates of our Tenth Annual National Ten Pin Bowling Tournament, which contest will be held at the capital city of Columbus, Ohio. It was President Bencze’s idea that the bowling tournament be given additional recognition and that the fellowship enjoyed thus far by the bowlers and their families be extended to all Verhovay members. Consequently the fraternal activities of the tournament can now be enjoyed even by those members who do not bowl, and it will be possible for all members — bowlers and non-bowlers — to enjoy one another’s fellowship and to become acquainted with the sports and social event which has become the biggest event not only in Verhovay life but in the Hungarian-American world. The climax of our NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP DAYS should be centered around that which has proved to be the most important to the growth and progress of the Association over the last twenty or more years, which, by the way, is the period during which we have grown from the small-class type of fraternal benefit society into the large-class type of modern fraternal insurance organization. Probably the most important happening in the last twenty years was the leadership that our society has enjoyed in the persons of our National President John Bencze and National Secretary Coloman Revesz. These two men have led our or- \ ganization for more than twenty years, and the rapid growth and success of the Association can be attributed largely to their efforts. They have given unselfishly to the Association, working hard under difficult circumstances to protect the interests of the 60,000 members. To show our appreciation to Mr. Bencze and to Mr. Revesz we should honor them fittingly on May 31, 1952 at the social program which will bring our NATIONAL VERHOVAY FELLOWSHIP DAYS to a close. No more fitting and proper way to honor these gentlemen could be found than in each of us doing his share in helping increase our membership. It should be the duty of each of us to secure at least one Senior and one Juvenile member to offer to these leaders as proof of our appreciation for the fine work they have done over the years. It is our sincere request to each branch manager and each member to write up or help secure at least one Senior and one Juvenile member between now and May 31, 1952. The results of our Bencze-Revesz Anniversary New Membership Campaign will be officially and publicly made known ,to Messrs. Bencze and Revesz. We feel certain that everyone wantá to do his share to assure the success of the new drive. All the branches have been sent both Senior and Juvenile membership applications as an emphatic reminder to the branch managers and the members that these applications when filled Journal February 20, 1952 Official Notice In accordance with instructions from the Board of Directors, I hereby call to the attention of all branch managers and officers as well as members of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association that the NEXT MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL BE HELD BEGINNING MONDAY, MARCH 17, 1952.
