Branch 14 GRAPE HARVEST FESTIVAL Traditionally the most successful event on the social calendar of Br. 14, the annual Grape Harvest Festi­val will be held on Sunday, October 8, at the Verhovay Hall. The dancing school, in preparation of this event,, will open early in September. The popular orchestra of Frank Gyürke has been engaged for the big day on which plenty of fun and entertain­ment will be provided for the kids as well as the adults, both the old and the young. Be sure to be there, all of you Verhovayans of Cuyahoga County.... WHO GOES TO YOUNGSTOWN? A cordial invitation has been re­ceived from St. Stephen’s Branch 21 to their grand picnic at Whippoor­will Grove in Youngstown, O., on Sunday, September 10th, and upon hearing of the invitation many of these who enjoyed the Youngstown­­ers" hospitality at the Verhovay Na­tional Bowling Tournament, expressed their desire to attend. We are trying ito organize a special automobile cavalcade from Verhovay Hall. All those planning to go, drivers as well as passengers, are requested to call the Manager who will compile the list of those participating in the ex­cursion. Drivers will be requested to indicate the number of passengers they are willing to take along. Call, preferably in the evening hours, REd­­wood 1-4047 and tell Mrs. Rettmann about your plans. MONTHLY MEETING The next monthly meeting of Br. 14 will be held on Tuesday, Septem­ber 5, the day after Labor Day. Dues will be received from 6 o’clock on. Branch 21 PICNIC AT WHIPPOORWILL GROVE All members and friends of the local branches as well as those in the surrounding area are cordially in­vited to the grand picnic of St. Ste­phen’s Branch- 21, to be held on Sun­day, September 10, at the Whippoor­will Grove, 3931 Crum Road. The gates will open in the morning when a speck fry will be held, to be fol­lowed by excellent entertainment. Music will be furnished by Louis Szikora’s famous orchestra. The best in food and refreshments will be served. The affair is held for the benefit of our Sports Fund. Direc­tions: take Road 18 to the end of line of the Mahoning Ave. bus, turn to North Meridien until Crum Rd., turn west on Crum Rd. to the picnic grounds. Branch 33 45TH ANNIVERSARY PLANS Branch 33 will attain the 45th an­niversary of founding on October 29. Therefore, all members are requested to attend our meeting on August 20th, at which time plans for the observance of this event will be dis­cussed. Branch 34 MR. FULOP, NEW MANAGER This is to inform the members of Branch 34 that, effective July 1st, 1950, District Manager John Fulop has been appointed Manager of the branch. Mr. Fulop, an outstanding­­insurance man of many years of ex­perience, is fully deserving the con­fidence of every member because he has served the Association with ex­cellent results for more than 15 years. Branch 40 SUMMER PICNICS The entertainment committee, con­sisting of Gabor Nagy, Stephen Mol­nár and Yal Konyha, Jr., announce that our second picnic will be held at the Reasbeck farm on Septem­ber 3rd, with Andrew Demeter’s or­chestra from Detroit playing. Every­body is cordially invited. Transpor­tation will be provided for these not having cars, from the Hungarian Political Club on Main Street. Branch 296 TO ALL MEMBERS I wish to inform the members of Branch 296 that since my appoint­ment as Field Supervisor will require me to spend most of my time away from home, to please help and co­operate with me by paying the dues at the regular monthly meetings held on the second Sunday of each month. In case of my absence, dues may be paid at the Verhovay Home, 220 Col­fax Street, at all times. Members also are requested to report illness either at the Verhovay Home or at my home. All dues must be paid by the 25th of each month. Your co­operation in these matters will be greatly appreciated. ELMER CHARLES, Mgr. PAGE 3 MEETING FIRST FRIDAY OF MONTH We have had no changes in the date of our regular monthly meet­ing. It is held the 1st Friday of each month all four seasons of the year, without vacations. The attendance of members is satisfactory, but we still would like to enjoy the friendship of many more. Please accept this invitation to the next meeting, I am sure if you come to one you will make it your duty to attend every­one thereafter. Refreshments are served free at meetings. Cards and fun galore until the house-manager politely asks Branch 366 to leave because it is Saturday morning al­ready and he’d like to close up the hall. TWILIGHT PICNIC SUCCESSFUL To all those members and friends who attended our Twilight Picnic and made it a grand success please accept our thanks. Also am grateful for the fine job the Picnic Chairman, Ann Pinter and all her appointed committees have done. Branch 443 15TH ANNIVERSARY In accordance with a resolution passed by the June meeting, plans are made to celebrate the 15th anni­versary of the founding of Branch 443 on November 11th, at which date an impressive banquet will be given to mark the observance of this jubi­lee. To assure the successful out­come of this venture, all members are requested to reserve their tickets a® this time. The price of the tickets had been set at $1.50 to enable every member to attend. The price of the ticket must be paid at the time re­servation is made and each purchase will be duly receipted. If every mem­ber consents to attend and purchases his tickets no later than September 3, then the successful outcome of the banquet will be assured and your of­ficers can proceed to make the plans for an impressive observance of the occasion. On the other hand, if up to September 3rd, tickets will not be sold in sufficient numbers, the plans will be cancelled and all advance pur­chases will be refunded. It is our sincere hope that there will not be a single member who would not want to attend this banquet in celebration of the 15th anniversary of our branch and, therefore, I appeal to every fellow-member to comply with our re­quest and to purchase his tickets without delay.
