How Detroit Residents Can Be Guests Of Honor At The Tournament Banquet — There Is An Easy Way To Earn A Complimentary Ticket For The Most Exciting Entertainment In Verhovay History. — Detroit residents are given an unusual opportunity to attend as guests of honor the great banquet and dance to be given on Sunday, May 29th, by the Verhovay branches in the Motor City for an estimated ONE THOUSAND VERHOVAYANS expected to assemble for the 6th Annual Verhovay Ten Pin Tournament. Naturally, every member of the bowling teams participating in the tournament will be a guest of the Detroit branches at this great event. But a special privilige has been accorded to the non-bowling residents of the host city. Here is how: any Detroit resident joining the Verhovay between now and April 30th, or any member helping his manager secure at least two new members during this period, will be awarded a complimentary ticket for the banquet, the entertainment and the dance to conclude the Detroit Tournament, Juvenile members joining one of the ordinary life insurance classes are included in the above provision in such manner that one of the parents of the juvenile member shall be entitled to receive the complimentary ticket. The procedure is simple. Write the names and addresses of your prospects in the form appearing at the bottom of this article, cut it out, place it in an envelope and mail either to Field Supervisor Mr. Takacs, or to your own branch-manager. The addresses of the Detroit force participating in this campaign are listed below for the convenience of our readers. Through the courtesy of our members, a copy of this article may reach some (we hope many!) who are not yet members of the Verhovay. If that happens to be your case, and you would like to join the Association, simply write your own name on the form below, and mail it either to Field Supervisor Takacs, or to a manager whom you know. Naturally, there will be no objection if you want to add the names of others willing to join the Verhovay family. On the contrary, such generous cooperation will be duly appreciated! On the other hand, if as a member of the Verhovay you are a regular reader of the Journal, you may enter the names of those in your immediate family, either adults Or children, who are not yet members of the Association or for whom you wish to purchase additional protection at this time. If you cannot find at least two good prospects in your family, look around among your neighbours, friends and acquaintances. You’ll find plenty who will tell you: “All right, let your manager come and see me.” For that’s all we expect in the way of help. The rest will be done by our Detroit staff. And if they succeed in securing two new members (paying 3 months’ dues in advance) upon your recommandation, you shall receive a complimentary ticket and attend the great event as a guest of honor in appreciation of your contribution to the advancement of the Verhovay. On the other hand, those who themselves join the Association during this campaign, will be guests of honor in order that they may participate in the ceremonial initiation of all new members joining the Verhovay in Detroit between January 1st and April 30th. Here is the list of our Detroit staff who are awaiting your replies on the form appearing below: Mr. Nicholas Takacs, Field Supervisor, 1969 S. Liddesdale Ave., Detroit 25, Michigan.. Presentation of the award was made on Sunday, January 23rd, at a special meeting called in honor of the outstanding officer. Director Louis Vizi of Windber, Pa., represented the Board of Directors and the Home Office on this unusual occasion that was attended by a large number of Branch 88 members. Director Vizi’s eloquent presentation address made a deep impression on those present. ‘Acknowledged’ member Samuel Naypauer, moved to tears by the tribute paid to him by director Vizi, thanked him and through him the officers of the Verhovay for the honor bestowed upon him and pledged his continued efforts to the further advancement of Verhovay fraternalism in Yatesboro. The silver medal and the beautifully executed scroll was duly admired by all and sundry, in fact, several of the younger members declared their intentjon to work for Verhovay’s progress'* in order that they, too, may win some day the Association’s coveted award. Many of the members of Branch 88 are of other than Hungarian background but differences in nationality and language disappeared in the unanimous enthusiasm prevailing throughout the gala meeting. Extending our congratulations to branch-officer Samuel Naypauer, we convey our best wishes to all those who made this occasion a splendid demonstration of Verhovay fraternalism in the appreciation of faithful service as well as in the enthusiastic response to its challenge.
