PACE 10. July 2», 1037. “LET’S GO SNOOPIN’ On Verhovay Avenue” Okay — let’s go! But, girlie, he careful -— go more cautiously this time, for yo’ all migh say somethin’ that might offend someone — Yowsah! Yours truly sure did get “hallelujah” for her last article. 'Twas all written in fun, though, my children, so why don’t you all he good sports and be able to take a lil razzin’. Well, we had a few srikes around this burg, thank goodness! At least it broke the monotony of small town life for a little while, anyhow. Yours truly had her fortune told at Keivnywood Park, Pittsburgh, Pa., die other Sumlay, and yours truly is “supposed” to marry a gigolo, and have six children. Good! Six new members for the Verhovay! By the way, Air. Joseph J. Horvath of Cleveland, O., I’ll have to thank you for your congratulations. Your column is “tops” in my opinion ! Ask Miss Irene Szekely, one of our members, for her recipe for chicken soup. Incidentally, Irene, how about getting back at me for that crack by asking ME for my recipe for a salmon salad? (Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Vestrocy!) Irene and I are both keeping “mum”, aren’t we, “pal!” All that I can say is that we are both good (?) cooks. Congratulations to our neighbor^ Branch 430, of Homestead, Pa. I am glad that your initial dance affair was so successful. I regret that I couldn’t be present. There’s no reason for the local girls to be anything but good-looking. For right In our midst we have a Verhovay member who is a beautician. She is none other than Miss Ella Sepach, a béautious brunette, (a coiisin of mine, by the way). That’s all for this time, folks, I’ll be seeing all youse guys and gals soon! From “Ye Olde Scooper” Vestrocy — Vice-President of Branch 484. P.S. — Don’t be a fraidycat —send in any comments you may have. I can take it! Balazs (Branch 366) Vacation time is here and there has been quite a few out of town Verhovay members spending their vacation here in Cleveland, visiting our Great Lakes Exposition. It is something worth while seeing. Heard that Mr. and Mrs. John Gulash of Branch 383, Buffalo, New York, were here to see our Expo again this year. Miss Anne Biro, one of our members who works in New York is home recuperating from an operation. I was over to see her and she sure''thinks Branch 394 in New York is tops. So may 1 thank the members of Branch 394 and Sec. Mrs. Steven Gomory for the way they have received our member. It really makes me happy to hear Miss Biro talk of the way she was accepted as one of them. An orchid to Branch 394. Heard that Branch 419 in Eairport Harbor has a#very good baseball team there this year. Wonder if Steve Riho is still manager. Wishing you luck again this year, boys, Wonder why we don’t hear much from Br. 416 in Warren, Ohio. Let’s hear some news from your Branch, Mr. Parti. Also, wonder if Mr. Brogely of Branch 365 in Youngstown, has a baseball team this year. I haven’t heard much of my friend Anrew Doko, Sec. of Branch 343 in Williamson, W. Va. Come on, Andy, put some southern news in our paper. This also goes for George Kertes, ’ Sec. of Branch 431 in Hemphill, W. Va. You see, I haven’t forgotten you George. While I am visiting the South, I don’t want to forget my home town, Stonega, Va. I hear that Frank Wolfinger is working hard to start an English Branch there. Well, Frank I sure wish you luck and hope you succeed because the Verhovay needs new members and and new branches to keep it the biggest Fraternal Insurance Association in America. So let us hear from you Frank. While I am on the subject oh old friends, I have just recently heard that some of my boyhood friends are living in Trenton, N. J., Wonder if they belong to Branch 417. Would like to hear from them. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Geza Csizi of Perth Amboy, Va., while they were here vacationing on his uncle’s farm near Cleveland. Wonder if they are members of Branch 458 there. We don’t hear much news of Branch 458. Come on give us some news of Perth Amboy. Miss Helen Vestrocy of New Brighton, Pa., is one of our new columnist and you did a very nice job Helen, may I congratulate you, and let us hear some news of your Branch often. The Ferret in Dearborn, Mich., is doing a swell job, and it makes you feel as if you all know the members there. I must stop in the next time I go to Detroit and visit the Branch. Now let’s get back home. Branch 14 here in Cleveland has a swell baseball team, and managed by Pete Kardar, and they have won their first 3 games by a large score and it looks like they are on their way to the championship this year. Wishing you luck, Pete. Well, I will just have to stop now, that I am back home, but as I said, vacation time is here, so I will be back with more news of what I find in other cities and towns. =VerhovayJournal= CLEVELAND, O. Family life is the most important business, and business principles of planning, budgeting and cost accounting should be applied to the family partnership.
