12. Here and There - A mixture of places
12. HERE AND THERE The Zoo [Állatkert] Always a favourite! At 6-12 Állatkerti körút which runs around the north side of the City Park. Trolleybus no. 72 from “Arany János u.” metro station takes you right there (first stop in the park). All zoo regulars found here — elephants, giraffes, hippos (big animals through the entrance and to the right), bears, tigers, lions, monkeys, seals, polar bears, etc. The palmhouse (way over to the left) has snakes and crocodiles. Nearby, one of the bird-houses has creatures walking and flying around you, though most animals are observed in cages. In summer children can enter one area [Állatsimogató] and stroke the baby animals. Pony-and-trap rides are also available for children. Open all year round, but many animals hidden away inside in the winter. The Circus [Fővárosi Nagycirkusz] Foreign children (and adults) who are used to travelling circuses under a big top may be surprised to learn that this is a permanent building where shows are performed throughout the year, though the form is the
