GETTING INVOLVED 81 Inner-City Arts and Youth Centre [Belvárosi Művelődési és Ifjúsági Ház] 9 Molnár u. Bp. V. tel: 117-5928 (“Ferenciek tere” metro stop). The speciality here is the (mid-September to mid-June) children’s folk-dance club (2-7 yrs) on Saturdays from 5-6 pm, followed by one for adults. Authentic folk music is played by the Kalamajka group. All welcome and encouraged to join in, including begin­ners. Budapest Cultural Centre [Budapesti Művelődési Központ] 55 Etele út, Bp. XI. tel: 142-4144 (no. 18 or 47 tram from Móricz Zsigmond körtér). “Family Sunday” twice a month involving variety of activities. Handicrafts for small children, seasonal flavour, etc. Video rental here with over 100 children’s films. Conductive Education Family Centre 53 Römer Flóris u. Budapest II (no. 91 bus from Nyugati tér). This centre is run by and for British families in Budapest with children involved in conductive educa­tion at the Pető Institute and elsewhere. Open during school term times (Mon-Fri 10-18; weekends 11-19). Video films, books, bar, do-it-yourself kitchen. Various events are organised e.g. early evening music events, Friday discos, Sunday children’s groups —painting, drawing, drama, etc. Cooked food is sometimes or­ganised.
