■ Józiejj Zoíthai Zehner: The Elisabeth Town Church, around 19/6 laid by Francis Joseph I himself in 1895. The large, fine church took six years to build before it was consecrated in 1901. Dominating the main facade is the pair of 76 metre tall neo-Gothic towers (the highest in District VII) decorated with tracery as fine as latticework, together with a rosette and a group of statues between them above the three-portico entrance. The centenary of its consecration was marked by the external reconstruction of the church; the internal reconstruction is still underway. With the fencing in of the churchyard, the residents of Elisabeth Town have been given a quiet leafy recreation area. Perhaps after the entire reconstruction is completed visitors will be allowed to ascend one of the towers to admire the panorama.
