Tanulmányok a veszprémi egyházmegye történetéről - Siptár Dániel: Kolostoralapítások és szerzetesi lelkipásztorkodás a veszprémi egyházmegye török alól felszabadult részein
Siptár Dániel By means of figures and maps, this part outlines the spatial range of such activities of the Franciscan cloister in Nagykanizsa and the Capuchin cloister in Mór with the additional example of the Franciscans in Székesfehérvár. A tendency typical throughout the country can be observed best by the example of Nagykanizsa. Due to the lack of clergymen and the insufficiency of parish- network in the beginning of the century, religious communities had to take part in the ministerial service of relatively far settlements. Later, during the middle of the century, ecclesiastical hierarchy gradually regained these places from the cloisters, but as a result of the increase in the population, once again friars were called upon to minister the newly settled villages as filial churches of the secular parishes. Capuchins in Mór worked at far less places than Franciscans did so in Nagykanizsa, because another religious community was also active in rural pastoral activity in this region, namely the Franciscans in Székesfehérvár, who left only the North-Western part of county Fejér available for Capuchins. This Franciscan cloister carried out the most wide-spread and diverse work out of the three communities under examination. They functioned as parish priests, chaplains of secular parish priests, affiliated and court chaplains as well. Thus, by this indispensable work, members of religious orders took an essential part of the catholic revival of the diocese. 102
