llmtríi ^utigartau-Amertrau (Eummittrc for the RESTORATION OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY-ELLIS ISLAND P.O. Box 2203 (Tel: 201-964-8464) Union, New Jersey 07083 NEWSLETTER My Fellow Hungarian-Americans: On behalf of our pride in our Hungarian heritage and, on behalf of the good name and repute of the Hungarian community in America, I respectfully appeal to the spokesmen for and the leaders of all Hungarian clubs, organizations, and churches in the United States to bring their respective groups into the ranks of our Com - mittee. For we, as Hungarian-Americans, must UNITE behind a nationwide fundraising drive in order to make one significant contribution, in the name of our community, towards the 2230-million cost of restoring the Statue of Liberty, as the ever - lasting symbol of what America stands for throughout the world, and the conversion of Ellis Island into a "living memorial" to the millions of immigrants who found a new way of life under the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of this great "NATION OF IMMIGRANTS". The Polish, German, Italian, and almost every other ethnic community in these United States of America -EXCEPT THE1 HUNGARIAN AS A GROUP - have already initiated organized fundraising campaigns in the name of their respective nationalities. I refuse to believe that we Hungarian-Americans cannot join together to do the same. In this particular instance, we Hungarian-Americans have an obligation in common. vre MUST GET TOGETHER AND PARTICIPATE IN THIS MOST WORTHY CAUSE. Not as isolated individuals or clubs, organizations, or churches, but a3 one people, who have done so much t.o make our country the great Nation that it is. How your club, organization, or church can participate in this fundraising campaign, is explained in this Special Newsletter. After reading it and discussing it, all you have to do is to let us know that you are with us, so that we can list your club, organization, or church as a member of our Committee and notify the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation of your active participation. Looking forward to your immediate acceptance of my cordial invitation to join our Committee, I remain, Sincerely yours, Louis F.usz Chairman kay ff/wn.sorért /if (Ae ,/ftt nrfetrian fir/AtA Jrite -'feuattrition of ttnion. . \ete Jersey. and i/iyonier. .f/en nsy/ra nia. a non/i n/’it oryrt niiyation dertieated A (Ate a ni/teation of' (Ate -Jfti nya ria n rom mani/ y in .'’/werten /or (Ate /reservation. /1 retortion. a not /ter/etaation o/ its ./fit nyaria n Ateritaye
