CLUB NEWS FOLKLORE CENTRUM ANNOUNCES “DANCE HOUSE” BOGOTA — The American-Hungar­­ian Folklore Centrum, a division of the American-Hungarian Educators’ Asso­ciation, recently announced that its Hungarian Folk Dance Workshop and Party, which began on March 10th, will be repeated on April 14, May 19, and June 9 at the Hungarian House (Magyar Haz), 213 East 82nd Street, in New York City. This program, which is under the instructorship of Stephan Kotansky, Susan Snyder Kotansky, Kalman Mag­yar, and Judith Magyar, features live music, singing, films, exhibits, dances, demonstrations, and guest artists. SCOUT PARENTS HOLD BENEFIT DINNER-DANCE WOODBRIDGE — The parents or­ganization of the Hungarian Scouts of Woodbridge recently held a traditional pork dinner and dance for the benefit of the Scout Troop of the American-Hun­garian Citizens Club of Woodbridge. Music for dancing was provided by John Szabó and His Orchestra. “MINNESOTA FATS” COMPETE IN POOL TOURNAMENT UNION — Intended to improve closer relationships between clubs, club mem­bers, and others in the Central Jersey area, representatives from four groups met last February to organize and launch the 2nd Annual Inter-Club Pool Tour­nament. As a result, four teams are com­peting in the six-week tournament this year: the American-Hungarian Citizens Club of Rahway; the American-Hun­garian Citizens Club of Wood bridge; the Budapest Cafe (Perth Amboy); and the Gyimesi Corner (Carteret). When the tournament is over, the winning team will host a “Big Gala Get-Together,” at which time trophies will be awarded to the two top teams and to the three players scoring the most points. Imre Gore, the president of the American-Hungarian April, 1984 Citizens Club of Woodbridge, is tourna­ment chairman. BARATH INSTALLED AS PRESIDENT OF CORVETTE CLUB WOODBRIDGE — Alan Barath, who is also a member of the American- Hungarian Citizens Club of Rahway and a member of its Pool Team, was re­cently installed as President of the Woodbridge Corvette Club at its An­nual Installation Dinner. Other officers installed at the same time were: Larry Solomon, Vice-President; Phil Crocker, Treasurer; and Susie Mongo, Secretary. The club, whose members are Corvette owners and drivers, participate in com­munity charity events and, on May 19th and 20th, will hold its 8th Annual Cor­vette Car Show at the Woodbridge Cen­ter. CLUB RENOVATIONS TO BEGIN THIS MONTH CLARK — Work will begin this month on exterior improvements to the club house of the American-Hungarian Citizens Club of Rahway here. The work will be done by the Hungarian­­owned, Garden State Stucco & Brick­­face Company of Roselle. Part of the considerable cost of the improvement is being funded with donations from club members.
