Ethnic Extravaganzas At Roebling ROEBLING - This “Bridge Building for Lasting World Peace” town is celebrating its 80th Birthday with a series of four ethnic festivals this year: the “Happy Birthday Roebling Festival” on Sunday, June 24th; the “America-A Nation of Nations Picnic” on Sunday, July 8th; the “Transylvania Happening” on Sunday, August 19th; and the “One World Festival” on Sunday, September 16th. The Hungarian community will be represented in three of these “extravaganzas”, while the “Transylvanian Happening”, which is a continuation of last season’s highly successful “Hungarian Festival” that attracted about 5,000 people, will be what its sponsors call the “Great Hungarian Shootout”, including such “fringe benefits” as a large variety of good food, lots of cool and not-so-cool refreshments, stimulating entertainment, and the music of the Continental Gypsies, who were recently featured in an article published in the New Jersey Monthly Magazine. The official host for this “Great Hungarian Shootout” will be the St. Nicholas Mission Church of Medford. H.A.A.C.
