TRAVEL HUNGARY Hungary is better prepared this summer season co welcome visitors than ever before. Accommodations are plentiful, sightseeing opportunities have been expanded, goods and services have been improved, and facilities for the enjoyment of tourist have been modernized. As host to visitors from all over the world, Hungary offers a “welcome mat” of hospitality. At Lake Balaton, the major holiday area of Hungary, there are more room accommodations available and three hotels - the Annabella and the Marina in Balatonfured, and the Hotel Aurora in Balatonalmadi - now feature indoor swimming pools, saunas, solaria, and gymnasiums. The Panorama Camp at Lake Valence, for example, now has room for 500 more tents and the youth resort at Valence is not only prepared to serve 4,000 meals a day, but also has added a restaurant and a snack-milk bar. In the Danube Bend area, camping sites are modernized, new parking lots are open, and the ethnographic museum at Szentendre is beautifully landscaped. Western Hungary is also ready to receive tourists. In Sopron, the Lover Hotel has been rebuilt and a new hotel, the Sopron, is now open for business. At Mosonmagyarovar, the Hungarian Auto Club has opened a new camping site, while new boarding-houses are available at Győr, Abda, Level, and Pannonhalma in County Gyor-Sopron, where one can also find specialrate accommodations in Mihály Castle. At Eger, the gateway to the highlands of Northern Hungary, the Hotel Eger has been improved, while the National Park of Hungary - the Hortobágy Puszta - has been upgraded. The world famous Hortobágy Tavern, near the “Nine-Hole Bridge”, for example, has been completely refurbished and the Inn has been rebuilt. New hotels, motels, and campsites have opened at Sárospatak, Baja, Cserkeszolo, and elsewhere around the country. Budapest, of course, remains the “hub city” for visitors and the gateway to tourism nationwide. For this reason, everything possible is being done to make sure that each and every visitor enjoys his or her stay in the “Paris on the Danube” and that each and every visitor enjoys a carefree holiday in Hungary and returns home with an unforgettable travel experience. There is certainly a great deal of interesting things to do and see in Hungary today. But, before packing your bags, see your LOCAL TRAVEL AGENT! Debrecen in Eastern Hungary. •*tne Calvinist Rome”.
