As the photographs in this issue of the Messenger show, the long-awaited construction of our new nursing home has begun. Things will be noisy and a little messy at times, but our entire community will be happy, because God has granted the realization of this dream. In each successive issue of the Messenger, we will update our dear readers as to the progress of the construction project. Then, as better weather arrives in the spring, we will invite you to visit The Bethlen Home and see, first hand, the “wonders” being accomplished here, to the Glory of Almighty God. But even as we rejoice, we feel sadness within. Our Nursing Home Administrator, Mr. Michael Walker, has left The Bethlen Home for an opportunity with another health care provider. Michael came on board in September of 1999, and has been a faithful steward and servant since that time. He oversaw the implementation of several new systems and methods, which have increased the efficiency and the effectiveness of the care provided in the Nursing Home. Michael was instrumental in the planning for the new nursing home, as he was involved in bringing about the successful acquisition of the Ligonier Gardens Personal Care Home. All of us “on the hill” are sad to see Michael go, but we ask that God bless him in his new position during the years ahead. The Bethlen Home Board of Directors has begun the search for the new Administrator. During this time in between, Ms. Lin Marie, NHA, has been engaged as the Interim Nursing Home Administrator, and she, along with Ms. Ann Donovan and Ms. Sandy Midlo, Director and Assistant Director of Nursing, respec-BÚCSÚ ÉS KÖSZÖNTÉS Az újesztendő hajnala eseményekben gazdag időszakot jelent a Bethlen Otthon és a Ligonier Gardens lakói nagy családjának életében. A Messenger mostani számában közölt fénykép is azt hirdeti, hogy az új Otthon régóta óhajtott építése immár megkezdődött. Az természetes, hogy a Bethlen Otthon környezetének csendjét olykor megzvarja majd a szokatlan zaj és forgalom, de az örömünkre szolgál, mert Isten jóvoltából a régen várt tervek valóra válását hirdetik. A Messenger következő számaiban értesülhet az olvasó az építkezés előrehaladásáról. Tavasz jövetelekor pedig szeretettel hívunk majd mindenkit, hogy szemtanúja legyen azoknak a csodálatos eseményeknek, amelyek itt Isten dicsőségét hirdetik. Örömünk azonban nem zavartalan. Otthonunk adminisztrátora Michael Walker ugyanis megvált a Bethlen Otthontól, amikor elfogadta egy másik intézet hívását. Nevéhez számos újítás fűződik, amelyeknek mindegyike az Otthonunk nyújtotta szolgálat minőségi szintjének emelkedését szolgálta. Eszközi szerepe volt mind az építkezési tervek kidolgozásában, mind a Ligonier Gardens birtokba vételében. Távozása híre szomorúságot jelentett számunkra. Isten áldását kérjük új szolgálati helyén megkezdett munkájára. Az Igazgató Tanács nyomban munkába kezdett a megüresedett munkakör betöltésére. A közbesső időre megbízásából Ms.Lin Marie, NHA, látja el a munkakört ideiglenes jelleggel, Mrs. Ann Donovan, Ms. Sandy Midlo és az igazgató lelkész segítségével. Biztosítani kívánjuk a gondozottakat és a családjaikat, hogy a Bethlen Otthon szolgálatának jó híre és ténye nem szenved kárt az átmeneti időben.
