âctüritp PMgíjligíjtő RESIDENTS ENTER CONTEST THRILLS AND SPILLS OF SHOPPING Several times a month a group of residents that enjoy writing and reading poetry get together for a Creative Writing Class taught by Activity Staff member Cindy Carr, who, by the way, does a wonderful job herself in writing poetry. Recently, the local newspaper sponsored a Supermarket Poetry Contest and deadline entry was July. Needless to say, the residents were quite excited about entering the contest. Anxiously waiting for the announcement of the winners to be held in September, the residents are already making plans on how they are going to spend their money. Rumor holds that the ladies are suggesting a pizza and beer party to start! Good luck ladies! To the right is the poem that was entered. For those that do the weekly shopping, I'm sure you will appreciate it. The Staff extends a warm "WELCOME" to the following new residents and their families. We hope you will enjoy your stay here with us. Mabel Patrick Rosalie Gross John Berkey Virginia Erdmann Wilda Jack Jane Meyers Joy Hegan Alverta Hall Nellie Livengood Bernice Shaffer Alverda Murphy Marjorie Riffle Sara Packer William Goelz Best wishes to the following residents who were recently discharged to their home and to personal care living. Mela Palumbo Helen Porch Anna Slater Louis Nicely Rose Leshow Alerga Hartnar It all starts in the lot As you begin to search For the ideal parking spot It's the biggest car first. With your list in hand You are ready to start The first challenge you face Is to get the carts apart. There are two ways to go Through the produce aisle One is up, one is down Don't they know this by now I try to make it over For some jelly and honey When the oldest woman in town Stops to count her money. Should I buy the chicken That's been marked reduced Will they think I am cheap Or maybe uncouth. One thing they forgot That is relevant after all Nobody that shops there Is eight feet tall. The mustard is on sale Buy one get one free Not even Michael Jordan can reach them Clean up in aisle three! I have to pause for a moment Halfway through it all Read some nutritional facts And take some Tylenol. Feeling very smug Of all the money I've saved
