Birthday Greetings to the following residents who will be celebrating their special day during the months of March, April and May. Each month, a Birthday Party will be held in their honor. Details are posted at each bulletin board located near each Nursing Station. Family and friends are welcome to join in on the festivities. Private parties are also available, but YOU MUST CALL AND RESERVE AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE for the Solarium or Dining Room. To make reservations, please contact Sherry at 238-6711, Monday through Friday. Reservations are scheduled according to Activity programs, in-services and meal times. Families are also welcome to sponsor the refreshments at the monthly birthday parties if they choose to do so. A Ai-tibitij Highlights Ä HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS The Residents were kept busy this year with all the entertainment and socials that were planned throughout the month of December. One of the biggest highlights was when Channel 11 News (WPXI) and St. Barnabas Charitable Foundations Presents for Patients Program was able to get the Duquesne Tamburitzans to come and perform for our Residents. This was also used as a promotion for Presents for Patients, and many of our Residents were on TV. It was very exciting. One of the most enjoyed programs was the Secret Santa Luncheon. Twenty five Residents signed up and exchanged names with each other. They were responsible for making their gift purchases. This also included an outing to the mall so they would be able to make their choice. The day of the luncheon everyone exchanged gifts and enjoyed seeing what everyone received. Receiving Christmas gifts is always exciting to begin with. Each Resident was presented a gift from the Presents for Patients Program and the Giving Tree from Kmart. Volunteers helped to distribute the gifts and worked very hard at labeling clothing for the Residents so that they would be able to wear their items on Christmas Day. The Activity Department also held their traditional Holiday Open House for the Residents and their families.
