JVcthnt^ JHtgljItgljts Thursday, Dec. 23 — The Residents Christmas Party will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room. Entertain­ment and refreshments will be provided. UPCOMING ATTRACTIONS FOR DECEMBER, JANUARY AND FEBRUARY During the next several months, the following special programs will be held, along with the regularly sched­uled programs. Residents will be able to review the weekly events on the bulletin boards located near each Nursing Station. * Friday, Dec. 24th — The Activity Department’s annual Christmas Open House will be held from 1:30to3p.m. in the Solarium. Residents and families are welcome. This is a great social time to start the holidays off right. Tuesday, Dec. 28th — Weather permitting, a sched­uled night outto see thelights will beheld. Details will be announced closer to the date. DECEMBER ATTRACTIONS Residents are encouraged to let the Activity Depart­ment know if they need assistance with gift wrapping, Christmas cards, decorating their room, etc. The sooner the better. Thursday, Dec. 2nd — The Ligonier VFW Kooties will be holding their annual Christmas Party for the resi­dents. Be ready for the carol sing and a few added surprises. Monday, Dec. 6th — The YMCA Youth Group will be in for hall caroling and one-on-one visits, with an added holiday surprise. Santa’s Workshop Week will be held from Monday the 6th to Friday the 10th. Any resident wanting assist­ance in doing Christmas cards, gift wrapping, mailing items, etc., please get in contact with Ann or Sherry in the Activity Department. We will be sure to have some­one assist you. Friday, Dec. 31st — A New Year’s Eve Party will be held, starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room, with entertainment provided by the Gene Peterson Band. Champagne and party materials needed for a great y^time will also be provided. Come and toast the New Year in with us. ^JANUARY ATTRACTIONS Monday, Jan. 10th — A special group of Girl Scouts will be visiting one-on-one. Won’t you help them feel at home? Thursday, Jan. 13th — A special Captain’s Dinner will be held during lunch time. The Family Support Group Meeting will be held on W* Wednesday, Jan. 19th at 2 p.m. in the Dining Room. ^ This month’s topic is Advance Directives. This deals with living wills, power of attorney, etc. The speaker is local attorney Richard Flickinger. Families, staff, and residents are welcome to attend. Friday, Dec. 10th — The Volunteer Christmas Party will be held in the Dining Room from 7 to 10 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by theTommy Phillips Band. Any resident who would enjoy listening to the music is welcome to attend. I’m sure you’ll be hearing the sounds of Christmas throughout the hallways. Saturday, Dec. 11th — The Interact Club will be visit­ing the residents and distributing special Christmas treats, starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12th —The Waterford Christian Church will bedoing hall caroling, starting at3 p.m. Join in on the fun! The monthly hymn sing with Pastor Johns will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15th. This will be their Christmas program. National Hug Day is Jan. 21st. Remember to Hug Someone who’s been kind to you! Volunteers will be sponsoring a Calendar Party on Thursday the 27th during lunch time. A Chinese Auc­tion and Bingo Party are planned. FEBRUARY ATTRACTIONS Wednesday, Feb. 9th — The Valley School Fourth Grade students will be visiting and sponsoring a Bingo Party, starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room. Voting for the King and Queen of Hearts will be held during the month of February. In honorof Valentine’s Day, a Sweethearts Dinnerwill be held on the 11th, at 6 p.m. Details to be announced. Thursday, Dec. 16th, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., you will be meeting a group of 120 students from the Ligonier Valley Middle School. Several surprises are planned. Friday, Dec. 17th — The Nurses’ Club from Laurel Valley Senior High School will be making their annual visit. These young ladies always work hard at prepar­ing special treats for the residents. Monday, Dec. 20th — A visit from the Holy Trinity CCD Classes will be held, starting at 6:30 p.m. The Valentine’s Party will be held on Monday, Feb. 14th at 1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room. The party will be sponsored by the Women’s Club. Entertainment will be provided, and the crowning of the King and Queen of Hearts will also be held. Wednesday, Feb. 23rd — The Valley School Third Grade Class will be holding a sing-a-long for the residents in the Dining Room, starting at 1 p.m.
