Jfrom tijß Ptrector CM pursing by Jane Eicher ANOTHER YEAR HAS COME AND GONE Another year has come and gone, and it is again my favorite time of the year. Spring is just around the corner, and it again is time to say “THANKS” to our Nursing Staff. A simple “THANK YOU” seems hardly adequate to show how much the Nurses and Nurses Aides of Bethlen Home are appreciated. Without the combined efforts of all departments, the Bethlen Home could not function ... as a matter of fact, it would not even exist. In the past several weeks, I have had several families comment on how “THANKFUL” they are that we are here to serve the community. They have expressed deep gratitude for the “homelike” atmosphere that is really our hallmark. They have also expressed pleasure atthekind smiles, pleasant greetings and open friendliness of all our staff. The recent State Survey team also made note of the kind and friendly attitude that was exhibited throughout the home. So, if my simple “THANK YOU” seems inadequate, perhaps the opinion of unheard others will say it better. . . “THANK YOU”!!!! TEN YEAR RECOGNITION The following employees will be celebrating their 10 years of employment this year here at the Bethlen Home. These employees will be acknowledged at the award ceremony during National Nursing Home Week and Employee Appreciation Day in May. Many “THANKS” for all your hard work, dedication and caring to our residents and to the home. We look forward to working with you for many years to come. SHERRY HUMBERTSON, ACTIVITY DIRECTOR/VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR JANET ALEXANDER, DIETARY DEPARTMENT LESLIE J. KASTEL, MAINTENANCE MICHELLE JOHNSON, CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT MARION GARLAND, CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT NATIONAL NURSES’ WEEK The Bethlen Home, along with many other long term care facilities, hospitals, and rehab centers, will be acknowledging their Nursing Staff during the week of May 6th to the 12th, which is known as National Nurses’ Week. During this week, over 180,000 professional working nurses in the Commonwealth will be recognized. This year’s theme for the Pennsylvania Nurses Association is “NURSES SHARE A VISION FOR AMERICA’S HEALTH”. The Bethlen Home will be honoring their Nurses during National Nursing Home Week on Friday, May21st with a luncheon and award presentation. Many “THANKS” to our “NURSES” for their love, dedication and kindness which they have shown to our residents and their job here at Bethlen Home. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our current staff of nurses here at the home. “HAPPY NURSES’ DAY”, everyone! Paul Kovács TO ALL DEPARTMENTS/EMPLOYEES “CONGRATULATIONS!!!” We came through our Annual State Survey with flying colors this year. There was only one deficiency listed, and this dealt with paperwork. It takes all of us working as a team to make this kind of effort, and I am very proud that the results of that teamwork are very apparent. You may take great pride in the work that you do here. I thank all of you for your efforts. Sincerely yours, Reverend Paul Kovács, Administrator
