ÛUjapIam’gi (Korner by Rev. Joseph Posta HOLY WEEK The week before Easter. On Palm Sunday, Christ made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. On Monday and Tuesday, He taught in the Temple. On Wednesday, He rested at Bethany. Thursday He returned to Jerusalem, at the Last Supper with His disciples, and was betrayed by Judas. Friday He was crucified. Saturday, His body lay in the tomb. ‘77s midnight; and on Olive’s brow, the star is dimmed that lately shone; ‘Tis midnight; in the garden now, the suffering Savior prays alone. 'Tis midnight; and for others’ guilt the Man of Sorrows weeps in blood; Yet He that hath in anguish knelt is not forsaken by His God. ‘Tis midnight; and from heavenly plains is borne the song that angels know; Unheard by mortals are the strains that sweetly soothe the Savior’s woe. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in His mercy gave us new birth into a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead! The inheritance to which we are born is one tftat nothing can destroy or spoil or wither. It is kept for you in heaven. (I. Peter 1:3, 4) By sending His Son Jesus Christ, God Himself draws near to us, discloses Himself to us and bestows His life upon us, making Himself Lord in our lives. In that way, He became a servant — by washing his disciples’ feet, by being obedient unto death, even unto the death of the cross, in such a way that He, the righteous and the sinless one, loaded Himself with the curse of sin for our sakes — that we might no longer be crushed by the power of sin. This means Good Friday, but after three days there is God’s day — EASTER DAY — the day which marks the resurrection of His Son from the grave. Easter is the assurance that what we call death is not the end of life. It is the proof that love can never be permanently crucified but will ultimately triumph over hate. It isthe promise of immortality. It is a glimpse of God’s plan for our fellowship with Him. On behalf of my family, I wish you and your loved ones a HAPPY EASTER. Kedves Testvéreim: Ebben a múlandó világban, legyen ez a kedves Húsvéti énekünk mindanyiónknak örömöt és reménységet nyújtó forrás: Nincs már szivem félelmére Nézni sírom fenekére; Mert látom Jézus példájából: Mi lehet a holtak porából; Szűnjetek meg kétségeim, Változzatok félelmeim Reménységgé s örömökké, Mert nem alszom el örökké. Ez esztendőben is a feltámadás reménységében kívánok szeretet mindnyájatoknak Istentói megáldott örömteljes Húsvéti Ünnepeket, szeretettel. Pásttal (Korner by Dr. Roxanne Phieffer, LPT MAY IS FOOT HEALTH MONTH It is very important to take care of our feet. Wearing the proper shoe is essential. Don’t always go for fashion. High heels may look good, but are hazardous to your feet. They push your body weight to the ball of your foot, which not only causes increased stress on the metatarsal bones, but high heels also cause the body’s center of gravity to be shifted forward, causing increased stress on your lower back. If you wish to wear high heels, wearthem occasionally and wear the low cut heels when possible. The Bethlen Home welcomes Becky Puskar to the Physical Therapy Department. She is their new L.P.T. We will be looking forward to working with you. OLDER AMERICANS’ MONTH A Presidential Proclamation was made on May 23, 1990. From 1963 through 1973, this was also known as “Senior Citizens’ Month”. In May, 1974, it became Older Americans’ Month. In 1980, the title included Senior Citizen’s Day, which is observed on the 8th of May and started in 1980. We at Bethlen Home take great pride in our “Seniors”. In their honor, special activity programs will be held throughout the month. Seniors are doing more than ever today. We salute you!
