BOX 657, LIGONIER, PA 15658-0657 1991'S KING AND QUEEN OF HEARTS A tradition still stands here at Bethlen Home, each year when Valentines Day rolls around. This is our King and Queen of Hearts contest. The staff, volunteers and family members are permitted to vote. This year’s nominations for Queen were: Susan Wargo, Elizabeth Toth, and Blanche Demangone. Sorry girls you still don't win that new car or cruise you've been waiting for. The King nominations were: Byron Bishop, Colin Taylor and Victor Pacifico. The nominee's all receive a token of appreciation and also are honored with a special "Sweethearts Dinner". 1991's King and Queen of Hearts Blanche Demangone and Colin Taylor This year's winners were Blanche Demangone and Colin Taylor. They reigned over the Valentines Day Party and even sneaked in a little kiss! A fun afternoon was enjoyed by all. Entertainment was provided by the Blair O'Neal Band and refreshments were also served. Special Valentine favors were donated by Wayne Kappel. 2ND ANNUAL CRAFT SHOW The Bethlen Home will be holding it's 2nd Annual Craft Show on Friday, March 8th and Saturday, March 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The craft display will be held in the solarium which is located on the 2nd floor in the Nursing Home. Items available for sale will be Spring crafts, homemade Easter candies and crafts, Mother's Day gifts, ceramic and wood items and much more. Donations of crafts, bake goods and cash are welcomed. The public is welcome to attend. A Special Visit With Fort Allen During the past several months twenty of our residents have been corresponding with Fort Allen Elementary School grades one through five. Residents recently had the opportunity to go visit the students during the holiday season. The students had made special placemats for them along with a special breakfast served by the students. The representatives of each class room then went back with their adopted grandparent and introduced them to their classmates. Each resident was given a special Christmas gift and many homemade cards. On February 8th the students will be visiting the Bethlen Home to meet the other adopt a grandparents that were unable to make that trip that day. A special Pizza Party is planned along with special entertainment provided by the students. A tour of the facility will also be given and all the residents will have opportunity to meet all the students. Students and Residents enjoying Pizza Party Resident.
