Fraternity I Testvériség Matthew Lawrence Manning — Branch 35 am 23 years old and currently a senior at Eastern Michigan University. I am in the process of completing my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Technology and Mechanical Engineering. I take my schooling very seriously as I work hard to complete the rest of my senior year. I have already received an Associate in Applied Science, Energy Technology, and an Associate in Applied Science Multi-skilled Facility Maintenance Technician from Flenry Ford Community College. Along with those completed Associates, I have received a variety of certifications. I am honored to be a part of the Hungarian Reformed Federation and very proud to be a part of the Hungarian culture. I am truly blessed and grateful to the Hungarian Reformed Federation for the financial aid as I work hard to complete my Bachelor’s degree. I would like to especially thank my wonderful and humbled grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Lorincz. Without them and the help of my parents, I don’t know where I would be. In closing, I would like to thank Mrs. Katalin Varga, the Branch Manager of Branch 35. With the strength of God, and with the love and support from my family and church, I am truly blessed as I complete my educational goal. Recommended by Mrs. Katalin Varga, Branch Manager Matthew Mihalcin — Branch 151 would like to thank the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America and Mr. Joseph Fabri for considering me eligible to receive the Student Aid & Loan Scholarship. I requested the educational assistance to support my pursuit of a PhD in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. The program is an accelerated curriculum designed to accommodate the working professional with a start and end date of January, 2011 and December, 2013, respectively. Following the receipt of my PhD, I am hopeful to continue in the field of systems engineering within professional and academic circles through mentoring and teaching. My prior academic achievements include a M.S. in Engineering Management from The George Washington University (2007) and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech (2005).Since 2005, I have been and continue to work as a systems engineer in the Washington Metro Area. In February, 2010,1 married my beautiful and very supportive wife, and we are expecting our first child in July, 2011. Recommended by Mr. Joseph Fabri, Director Robert Juhasz — Branch 182 live in Allen Park, MI, but I was born in Debrecen, Hungary and lived there for about a year. Sometimes my grandparents would call me “Debreceni Magyar Fiu” because I was born there, so I never forget who I am or where I was born. But after living there for a year, my parents decided to move to the United States in search of a new life and a better opportunity for their children’s future. For that, I am thankful and lucky for such parents who left everything, family and friends, to take a chance for the comfort of my two sisters and me. Despite living in America and having the American culture and language surround me, I have been able to keep the Hungarian heritage and the language as well. I was able to do so with family and church, and I have also been able to keep it up by going to Hungary with the family every once in a while. I feel very proud to be Hungarian; I can only hope that every other Hungarian feels the same. Currently, I am in my second year of college attending Henry Ford Community College (HFCC). I later want to transfer to U of M Dearborn to major in either Electrical Engineering or Electronics. During my time in HFCC, I have been on the Dean’s List and a member of the Christian Club. I have also given blood and participated in my church, even before I went to college. I have been a full-time student for each semester I have been in school and I still have an average GPA of 3.792.1 would like to thank HRFA for giving me a chance to receive this scholarship.
