Spring 2011 Ladies preparing onions, lettuce and dressing Lion Clubs Make Subs for Charities On January 20th, 2011, 450 subs were made for the purpose of raising funds for charities such as scholarships, money for the blind, and for other needy individuals. The Fabris and ten others began at 7:00 A.M. so those who pre-ordered could pick them up for lunch or dinner, and those subs not picked up were delivered by the work crew. Blackhawk High School Wrestling Team and Tournament For the past 20 years, Joe has been coaching the high school wrestling team and mentoring many young men to give direction to their lives regarding furthering their education and fostering a family environment. Peggy helps with fundraising and works in the school cafeteria during the tournaments. Ed Braddock coaches with Joe and Rhonda Braddock also works with Peggy in the kitchen to serve chili, pizza, tacos, desserts, doughnuts and drinks to the appreciative students. Margaret Fabri, Branch Manager Branch 176 — Gary, IN Operation Christmas Child In 2010,30 boxes were donated and filled mostly with the help of the Mischak grandchildren. Marika Koromi, Renata Gálos, Val Kristóf, Marika Zemen Hungarian Sausage and Stuffed Cabbage Day On December 7, 8 and 9th, 2010, we made Hungarian sausage and stuffed cabbage as a fund raiser for our church, Holy Trinity Hungarian Church. We had the usual great dedicated helpers; namely Fr. A Skerl, Joe Kovács, the Sisak family, and Mary Szilagyi. I spent the 3 days with help from our church members to bring to our church over $2,500.00. Marika and József Kovács, Kati Mischak, András and Pamela Demeter District Meeting We had very productive meetings called together by Director Andas Demeter. We held the first meeting at András Demeter’s home. We discussed how to get more members and introduced ideas how to improve our sales. Pamela Demeter served a wonderful lunch, and we thanked them for their hospitality. Our second meeting was held at the Kovács’ residence. Nine people were present 24 Peggy Fabri working in the kitchen
