Branch 22 — Youngstown, OH The Youngstown American Hungarian Federation of Churches and Societies presented their annual com­memorative program of the Hungarian War of independ­ence of March 1848. It was held on Sunday March 16, 2008 at the Youngstown American Hungarian Club in Youngstown, Ohio. The program included a variety of speakers and per­formances, presented by the Master of Ceremonies, Ms. Kathy Novak. The speakers were the group’s president, Mr. Frank Schauer; a Hungarian speaker, Mr. Kalman Molnár; and an English speaker, Mr. Endre Csornán. Our own Mr. Joseph Fabri recited the poem Nemzeti Dal. There was a dance performance by the Csillagos Dance Group. In addition, Bill Kolosi and Joseph Losoncy per­formed Hungarian Folk songs. Also, 15 year old Endre Cseh II played Hungarian melodies on the Cimbalom. His family hosts the “Souvenirs of Hungary” radio show every Saturday at noon from Struthers, Ohio. The program was attended by approximately 60 guests. Fellowship and refreshments followed the after­noon program. Above information reported by John K. Morey, HRFA Board Chairman and Branch 22 members. Branch 67 — Sharon, PA College Track Papay 8th at NCAAs Ex-Sharon star is an All-American. Ak­ron University star Auston Papay, former Sharon High athletic standout, earned All -American honors with an 8th-place finish in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Champion­ships this past weekend at the University of Arkansas. In the preliminaries, Papay fouled his first two throws, but on the third went 59-8 to earn a berth in the finals. In the finals, Papay threw 60-feet, 8-inches to earn a medal. Papay, a junior who holds all the Akron shot and discus records, is gearing toward the outdoor season, es­pecially in the discus where he has a good shot to earn a spot in the Olympic Trials . Branch 151 — Beaver Falls, PA Wrestling tournament On January 18, 2008, seven school districts together with the Blackhawk school had their successful. Coaches Ed Braddock and Joe Fabri played a mayor part in this event. Coach Fabri who is also a Director of HRFA pre­pared chili and served the hungry young wrestlers in the cafeteria. Assisting him were Katrina Thompson, Joan Manalukas and Ronda Braddock. These ladies worked extremely hard in preparing and serving the food to the wrestlers.
