The HRFA Táncház Series Excites Hungarian Americans and Others by Noemi Toka, HRFA national fraternal staff , and a member of the famous Tisza Dance Ensemble The HRFA started a Hungarian Táncház (dance-party) series on September 30th, 2006 in the home office as an example of our great culture. The event was a great success in the Hungarian American community as well as among other nationalities living in the Washington DC area. First, the children had a special time learning and playing traditional Hungarian child-games with dance steps from Szatmár and Somogy County. It was very delightful to see all the enthusiasm and joy on their young faces, and yes, many of them might become fantastic future folk-dancers. 1 The children even joined the adults in dancing throughout the night. The Kossuth House has never seen this many people determined to learn the traditional dances. More than 40 people crammed into our main room to participate in this wonderful social event. Some people even came in from the streets to join us driven by the wonderful sounds of Hungarian folk music and dancing feet. Page 28 Fraternity - Testvériség
